Koh Lanta!!!

We'd had enough of Koh Phi Phi Don and we're craving a bit more of an authentic Thai Island experience. Took the boat to Koh Lanta.....1.5h South of Phi Phi. Biggest Island in Thailand........

We were actually searching for monkeys...
but found none. The whole experience of witnessing first hand the way the fisherman live was worth it though....

Pretty rugged...
but they were all too happy to be there......

Their place of worship....
A buddhist 'Temple' of sorts....... for the fishermen and their families - guess all you need is a place to throw down the pillow and you're off.......

GREAT food! Great service, great people. Truely the 'Land of Smiles'

The best food....
Some of the best food we tried was at these road-side stalls. At this one we had some awsome beef and chicken noodles....all for a mere 50 euro cents each....what a rip off!!!

With entertainment as well....
Thai dolls playing around us whilst sucking up our noodles was an added bonus......

Our H'moon Accomodation...
View from our front door (sea to the left about 10meters away). Staff was really nice here and even let Daria have the Thai b'fast (which was georgous!) instead of their version of American b'fast (gagg!)

Daria finally talked John into renting a motorbike though he'd never driven one before so she was to drive it..........

To see the Island and its people.......

John finally decided to give it a go driving the motorbike and he was immediately hooked...D proceeded to photograph the whole thing....

and nick named him 'Little Simian Man'

to crawl up my arm.....
