Hello Everyone!
I'm back to share more of my adventures with you all!
I am afraid I have to make a small apology to everyone since there was a small error in my previous blog. Since the day after the motorbike ride we were not going on an second four island tour, this was a few days later! Today I am going to tell you about another trip of ours, a kayak trip through the Mangroves of Krabi.
It was a half day trip which only started in the afternoon. We weren't actually planning on doing anything today so we had a lay-in and decided to take it easy. In the afternoon we were heading for the reception to plan a trip for the day after and the girl at the reception told us about this kayaking tour. It all sounded really good, with a pick-up and drop-off at the hotel, a kayak tour and a sunset barbecue! We were quite surprised though, when she asked if we wanted to go the same day. Since didn't have any other plans and we had enough of doing nothing all day we agreed upon the trip and an hour later
Sunset
The View from our little private beach just before we had our diner! the pick-up was already waiting for us outside.
After a long and wobbly ride to the small docks we were welcomed with coffee and a small briefing. Shortly afterwards we hopped into our kayaks with our waterproof bags and set off! It was a beautiful day to be on the water therefor it was no punishment to cross the small bay to the mangrove. Our guide told us about the animals we might be able to spot around here and gave us some safety instructions before we set off into the mangrove. It was magnificent to be surrounded by the trees with the roots deep in the water and the high cliffs leaning over you. A cool breeze gently blew through the woods making it a comfortable temperature inside.
After spotting two monitor lizards and being attacked with little sticks by a group of monkeys we headed back to the bay and made a small loop around an enormous rock before returning to the harbor again. As soon as we arrived the boats were pulled up on the shore and we entered the pick-up truck to be dropped off at the beach where our barbecue would be. We
The Diner
Our great food served in an most romantic way on the beach! got of the pick-up and a beautiful white beach lay on our feet. We had about half an hour before the food was being served so we decided to occupy the hammocks, hung between the palm trees looking out over the azure blue water. It didn't last too long though because I wanted to take a short dip in the water so I took of my clothes and with an ice-cold beer in the hand i walked into the water for a quick dip. The water was so warm that when I sat down in the water I quickly forgot time and in no-time I was called back because the food was ready.
A table was been put down on the beach with some chairs around it surrounded by some fiercely burning torches. Shortly after the food was served, big grilled fishes roasted on the skin, shaslicks, baked potato, fresh salad and fresh fruits as desert. It was an amazing surprise and put a wonderful ending of an amazing day.
The next time I will tell you all about our last day in Ao Nang and what we did to celebrate our great stay there!
Loads of love to everyone,
Caspar
