สวัสดี S̄wạs̄dī - Hello from Pai, Thailand! What a perfect day of riding! Today we departed Mae Sariang in route to Mae Hong Son. Our first stop along the way was a visit to a World War II museum named the Thailand-Japan Friendship Memorial. Here they showed us a movie (propaganda) about how great it was for Thailand to be occupied by Japan during WWII. Hmmm.... Anyway, by mid-day, we arrived at the Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu, the first temple of Mae Hong Son. The entire way from the beginning of the day to this temple was traveled on narrow, twisty, curvy roads. In fact 1,864 curves to be exact. When we arrived at the temple, we were greeted and presented a certificate from the Governor of Mae Hong Son, for completing the journey of 1,864 curves. Kind of neat, i guess....

After lunch, we continued traveling east, along the Thailand-Myanmar (Burma) boarder until reaching our destination in Pai, Thailand. Our accommodations here are worth mentioning. The theme was "Candy Land". Not something you would expect to see in the middle of Asia. All-in-All a great day of riding. In the morning, the weather was just a little

warm and the roads were dry with very little traffic. It started to rain in the afternoon, which slowed us down a bit, but not too much.

A special salute the Marine Corps on it's 240th Birthday. Semper Fi

Looks fun!
Russ, Looks like you couldn't have picked a better time of the year to do the trip. It looks perfect out there! 1864 curves in one ride! You must have had a hard time going straight after that! Mike
