Going into our 5th day of Songkran, it is incouragably wet and my hair smells foul dripping with moat and I'm starting to get just a touch grumpy.

Don't get me wrong, here. City-wide water fights are a stroke of stunning brilliance ... along with Spain's tomato throwing day, it could be one of the best public policies ever conceived. getting nailed by a water balloon while riding in the back of a songtaew is a blast, as is returning the favor. And the buckets of ice water poured over my shoulders in 100-plus degree heat is always welcomed. But.

Imagine this ... everywhere.

And people wonder why Thais are generally so easy going the rest of the year.
Ventilation, baby, ventilation.
