Religion is very important in both the Thai and the Isaan people's respective lives. It is estimated that 97 percent of Thailand's population are Buddhists, and this is very evident when you go to temples in smaller cities and towns around Thailand where it seems that every man and his dog is in attendance. So it is absolutely no surprise that some of the most impressive monuments in Thailand have religious significance. For the Pa Nam Yoi Temple there definitely is absolutely no exception, it is one of the largest monuments in size and grandeur that has been produced in Isaan country.
