Edit Blog Post
This blog won’t arouse too much interest this time around and I apologize for that. Quite honestly it is even difficult for me to write because it’s so boring. But here goes………
Two and a half weeks ago I went into Bangkok for arthroscopic surgery on my left shoulder. For those who know me well, remember I had my right shoulder repaired three years ago. I’m thankful for several things, the first that I only have two shoulders! The second that I was at the number one rated hospital in Southeast Asia and one of the 10 best in the world (sorry, that’s what all the literature says!) and thirdly, the US government paid for it. Write your Congressmen and Senators because this is the type of care we all deserve!…Ok, ok so I saw a political opportunity there.
The surgery was a success according to the surgeons, who cut, scraped, vacuumed and pinned me back together. I spent 3 days at Bumrungrad Hospital and aside from the discomfort (worse pain in my life!) associated with this procedure, my accommodations at this seemingly 5 Star resort, was wonderful. I had my choice of rooms and was graciously upgraded to

Of course.......
Stonehenge of Thailand!a mini suite on the 6th floor with a garden outside my picture window overlooking Bangkok. My food choices ranged from Western to Mediterranean and I must say that the staff was friendly and cooperative. Unfortunately the health club was off limits this time around. My recommendation is an overwhelming, YES. I know it’s only a hospital but even after being discharged, my friends and I went back for our meals and to enjoy the opulence of the place.
Things in my village were going along pretty well but now have turned a little bizarre. Originally I was suppose to work with the local administrative office but was shunned by them and went on my merry way and found my niche elsewhere. Now all of a sudden they have two individuals who are at my disposal to assist me with anything I need or want. You bet I'm taking advantage of their renewed interest in me....I had the Nyoke drive me and two friends into Bangkok last week (5 hours one way), they have agreed to have a bus available for my school kids to go to the ICT room one day a week for classes, I'm pushing for
a ping pong table for my moo, they have someone who will help translate my interviews for my Living History book and on and on. They only had one request of me.............In April they want me to take 50 kids between the ages of 11-19 on a 9 day outing! This is what I told them @##$%$@@!&*@#$%%$! There are only 5 kids between those ages I would even consider and those are my own grandkids!
I will be making my way home, in America, for the holidays, spending a week in Boulder City, Nv and then another in North Bend, Wa. I'll resume this blog in the New Year so will take this opportunity to...
WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY HOLIDAY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, GOOD HEALTH IN THE NEW YEAR!

Always fun
I know from whence you speak about the hospitals. I went to the other one off Sukumwit 49 for the dental appointments and it was super special. Keep up your therapy so that you keep the shoulder loose and have a great time in America. Obama is on the air tonight for a national address about the "surge" in Afganistan. Hopefully it all makes some sense. Killing people never seems a very cool thing to do. The health care debate rages on and on. Why they just don't get rid of the 65 age limit on Medicare and open it up to all the public is beyond me. But of course, I'm a sensible liberal who thinks that capitalism has its place but so does socialism. And!!!, your comments are never boring. Is that handsome man your boyfriend? Lucky you. Hugs, Dennis
