Hey everyone! We're now on a little island on the east coast of Thailand called Ko Samet, it's really chilled out with white sand and bars on the beach. So looking forward to a few days relaxing here after all the travelling we've had to do.

We left Chiang Mai on the night train yesterday and really enjoyed our time there as we managed to do quite a bit of stuff in our three days. We did a trek through the jungle which was great and we visited a hill tribe called the long necks. They wear rings round their necks to lengthen them and while this was interesting it did feel like a show village which was a shame.

We then trekked a bit further to an elephant park where we got to ride one through the river which was brilliant although we had the lazy one and we kept getting overtaken!

Also while in Chiang Mai we went white water rafting and bamboo rafting, it was so fantastic that we'll definetly do it again in New Zealand. The rafting guides thought it would be hilarious to chuck us out and leave us to swim after them

which was a shock but actually pretty cool as the current was fast so we just whizzed along!

Sadly we couldn't get a nice sleeper train back down south so we sat upright on chairs last night for 12 hours!! Unsurprisingly we got no sleep so it wasn't much fun getting a 4 hour bus drive and then a boat here to Ko Samet. However 20 hours of a horrible journey doesn't seem so bad when you're sitting on a pristine beach eating amazing thai food with a cocktail!

Can't wait to have our first swim in Thailand tomorrow, hope you're all well, lots of love, Cordy and Issie X

P.S Issie had her hair cut yesterday by a Thai lady who didn't speak much english so you'll soon be able to see Issie with short hair!!
