Travel Recipe
60 hours awake time
24 hours at airports
16 hours of flight time
12 stewerdesses
4 outfit changes (by the stewerdesses)
3 Meals
1 Insane Taxi Ride through the Labyrinth they call Bangkok
Other Options and Notable Varients 1 coked out mendicant asking (sam) for a dollar- past security- at 3am in the morning, passes
out- is awoken by 5 police officers- throws punches- gets arrested-
or
1 three hour walk through the ghettos (I presume) with zero english speakers encountered
(or non-thai for that matter)
Day 2
The 80 minute taxi ride to Banglamphu (bacpackers paradise/tourist trap from hell) should
have reasonably cost $60+ US. But today (like most everyother in Thailand) it was slightly
cheaper- 180 baht- or about 5 dollars and 50 cents U.S.
Sounds like a bargain- and it is- but it doesn't compare to hour 3 hour 44 cent tut tut ride (20
baht)
You may wonder how one can get away with such steals. The taxi is legitimate. The tut tut is
one ridiculous tourist trap. Fast forward 2 travel agencies and one silkshop and we had
fenagled our way to some Thai boxing. The colleseum full of beer bellied thai men- the
occasional tourist (the thais have great surgeries- so much so that grabbing is the only
effective means of verification (according to like 5 tut tut driving storytellers) Sensing
opportunity- I have taken advantage of the great services- and am now 5 foot two- tan- no
need to change the facial hair cause it is patchy at best. )
Thai boxing resulted in one blood bath and one insane T.K.O. but for the most part was very
civil.
If this is incoherent babble- too bad. I'm jetlagged- and confusing at best. Or better yet- will convey clearer story telling later...
