Collage - Chatuchak
Map of Chatuchak and the little cuties we saw.. This is not my first trip to Bangkok, and I doubt that this will ever be the last as well. It is always fun to have such short get-away to a shopping paradise.
Anyway, this is my friend's first trip, hence I wanna try to make it such that he will get to see as much of Bangkok as possible, as well as to let this be a self-recovery trip for myself. For things had been tough, and I needed this short get-away to clear my thoughts and for me to have some fun.
Asia Hotel
Upon touched down at Bangkok, we headed straight to the hotel -
Asia Hotel.
I had been to this hotel only once before with my budz. It had been so awesome that I am back again. This is because the hotel is situated right next to the
BTS - Ratchathewi line (which is one of Bangkok's metro line). It is so convenient to get around Bangkok, saving a lot on the cabs and avoiding all the traffic jams. I simply love this hotel.
Chatuchak & Siam Paragon
As it was a Saturday. We rushed off to Chatuchak. Although I don't like
Collage - Siam Paragon
Food.... I really miss coconut ice cream now.
There is even toast box in Siam Paragon!! shopping, I had wanted to give my friend a chance to enjoy and experience Bangkok's largest weekend market. However, in the end, I think I was the one who got the most buys - 2 dresses and some small accessories. I had managed to introduce one side of Chatuchak to him - the cutie animals. I simply love all of them. They really look so cute and adorable. However, I am not sure how their breeding program is like. Though I really hope it is something humane.
Anyway, as we got there late, we got to experience another side of Chatuchak, one that I had never experience before - the night life of Chatuchak. It was so interesting and eye-opening. The main stalls and market were close, however, there were so many others setting up stores by the roadside. The main crowd were mainly the locals, and the price of their things drop so much - from 299 baht at the main market to 100 baht at the road side market. I had such a blast buying things.
After all that walking, we decided to head over to some air-con shopping mall - Siam Paragon. Although we were in Thailand, we ended up settling for Vietnamese food as the both of are non-spicy people, and we had too much road-side snacks (we were too full for a proper meal).
Massage
As we were both workaholics - we had worked till 3am the night before, we decided to head back to the hotel for a massage nearby. There is this one massage that I had always been to and the service is still as good after so long. Unfortunately, by this time I had been too tired, I didn't take any photos. The massage palour is very easily identifiable - it's next the the 7-eleven, near Asia Hotel.
By the time we ended our extended massage, it was way past midnight - we decided to call it a day. More to come on our day 2 of our bangkok repose…...
