Yesterday’s shopping trip was pretty hard on us, so we didn’t feel like doing much this morning. Katja, Kaja, Kia, Mom, and I still decided to check out the local market around noon, but it was closed so we ended up walking the area. We crossed a bridge that had a murky river running under it, and big fish came to the surface every other second to eat. It was cool because their scales caught the sun when they turned their sides at the surface and shone like silver. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring my camera.

Half of the afternoon was spent at the pool tanning (Kasper and me) and playing in the water (Katja and Kia). Kaja and Dad napped for several hours, and Mom read in her tsunami book.

The rest of the afternoon was spent on the guilty pleasure of our vacation. A guilty pleasure the whole family (but Mom) have enjoyed every night since we got here. Don’t judge… Jersey Shore! Katja, Kaja, and Kia hadn’t seen it before, I only watched random episodes with my college ultimate team during tournaments, and Kasper happened to have it on his external hard drive. Seemed like the logical past time activity. We’re currently halfway on the second season 😉

The weather was volatile. Most of the day it was sunny and great for tanning, then all of a sudden the heaven bursts, thunder rumbles right over our heads and the sky flashes with massive lightning bolts. (Picture is courtesy of Kaja).

After dinner at a local restaurant, we stopped by 7Eleven for ice cream. The five kids shared two large containers. Vanilla ice cream with chocolate and cashew nuts – it doesn’t get much better than that!

So today was a day of guilty pleasures, and that’s okay. Because tomorrow is when we’ll walk it all off! Local weekend market, 8000 stands, money to be spent. We have a date with Bangkok.

Dad woke up when I took out the camera, and he hurriedly tried to wake up Kaja.
