IN BANGKOK

Once we cleared Immigration in Laem Chabang (two hours, could they be any slower)we took a car to our hotel in Bangkok. It was a two hour ride, so we got some snooze time. ML went right to work and I just hung out at the Sukhothai Hotel and it is beautiful here. The hotel room is bigger than our first apartment. It has a bath and a half, big living room, and a huge bedroom. The bathroom is larger than my second bedroom at home. I would be perfectly happy here for the next two days without ever leaving the hotel property. However, RL & ML did convince me to go out last for a two hour Thai massage. Now please know, I do not like massages, never have. There is just something weird about strangers touching me every where, but OK, I said I would give it a try. We went to HEALTH LAND, a huge massage joint (get your minds out of the gutter, this was a real massage parlor.) They give you a cotton top and pants to put on and all three of us were in the same room on separate mattresses. Three Thai women come in and start working on us at the same time. Do you remember the Seinfeld episode where Elaine is getting her nails done at a Korean salon and the women are giggling, and talking and Elaine just KNOWS they are talking about her? ML & RL are sleeping and totally unaware of what is going on and the women are whispering and giggling and I have no idea what is so funny and I just want to get up, get dressed and get out of there. The guys loved it and would go back every night. Here’s the most amazing part…..the price. For three of us it was $36 US dollars. That’s for all three of us, not each! Went back to the hotel and had the best Thai dinner right at the hotel. Today, April 18, ML is working and I will hang out at the pool. Tonight we will go to a night market and no doubt will buy some kind of knock offs at ridiculously cheap prices. And then to top off the night, we’re going back to HEALTH LAND for foot massages. ML assures me this will fix my painful plantar fasciitis.
