Onie on 2nd Class Sleepy Train
We used a night train to return from Chiang Mai to Bangkok for our flight on Monday...It took 14 hours!!!! After chatting to a lot of tourist advisors and fellow travellers, we have decided to change the order of countries in which we travel. Our original plan was to head up to north Thailand and then cross over into Laos and travel around the north! But after much research and advice, we have to decided that we want to travel in the south of Laos instead...
Soooo here is our plan of action!
We are now back in Bangkok, and are now flying to Hanoi (the capital of Vietnam) on Monday! We plan to travel the north of Vietnam in detail, before heading down the country as far south as Hoi An.
We are then going to head inland to the Loa Boa boarder crossing into Loas (the really busy and safe crossing) and travel around the south of Loas, visiting the famous caves, waterfalls and the 4000 indivitual islets of the Mekong which is home to the endangered irrawaddy dolphin (only 40 left in the world). We will then cross into Cambodia from the southern Loas boarder crossing and continue our journey as normal!!!
We're really excited and cannot wait to finally see the sea...Halong Bay here we come!!!!!
