LUCHI:
hello everyone, sorry been a bit slack havnt yet done a jounal entry. this is our 6th day in thailand and it has been so amazing!

after spending a night in hectic bangkok we caught a flight up to chiang mai, a much smaller more relaxed city. we spent our first day checking out temples and speaking to thai monks it was so beautiful to leearn so much in one day. that night however... we did what we do best ahhah party time. we made friends with some people from the awwesome guest h ouse we were staying at. it was like a woodford tent with hammocks and low tables and the best coconut milkshakes for 25 baht ( less than a dollar). after we drank some beers and a bottle of local rum we hit the town and found THE ROOFTOP BAR> it was the CHAI tent in thailand i sware! all these low tables and candles and draperies everywhere. heaven i tell you. check ch check out the photos. the next day we did a cooking class at an organic farm around 45 mins out of chiang mai and made delicious 5 course thai meals!!

our last night in chiang mai was crazzy ill let pauly tell u about that... BTW :::

PARTYing is not the only thing we have been doing (despite what the photos may suggest) dont worry am and da, we have been soaking up many interesting sites etc. all our good day time photos are on pauls good camera so we'll add them another day...

PAULY:
I like to party! in chang mai that is what we did on our last night. me and lucy were a little worried at first that we may not be able to find other people to talk/drink/party with however that did not last long. after dinner at our beautiful guest house we met some canadians and a dutch girl and started to have a few beers by the time a had been to the toilet for the 3rd time there were about 20 people with us so we decided to head out into the nightlife of downtown chang mai (old downtown chang mai) (just outside the mote district)! we found live music and occupied the entire place and then a rather conservative english man decided to order whiskey bukets and dance on the tables the rest was history. we also went to a thai club called spicey not many people like it due to bad american pop music and too many thai people but we were right at home and stayed here untill the stomachs growled and we needed burgers to end the night. twas very enjoyable untill the next day we were leaving for pai (a 4 hr bus ride with 1038 hairpin corners up a mountain) hmmm me and lucy nearly missed the bus for starters then after we had taken a crowded seat the nightmare began... all in all we made it and pai is amazing. today we shall hire motobikes today and go to a waterfall just out of town. more about pai next time

Thailand's tremendous
Hi Looch and Paully So absolutely wonderful to read your stories and see those photos. Looks like you both have really settled into travelling in S.E. Asia like fish to water (predictable really knowing you two). It appears that you are combining the pleasures of checking out the local natural and person made treasures with the joys of partying. Paul looked as though another couple of hours sleep before the insense photo wouldn't have been a bad idea. Also I thought that we learnt from Jessi's experiences earlier this year that partying hard and late the night before winding bus rides in S.E. Asia was something to avoid. A father would not of course even try to suggest that his daughter may reduce her party time but perhaps partying every night other than the night before long bus/boat/train/submarine or helium balloon trips could be considered. Anyhow, just wonderful to hear from you both. Enjoy and stay safe. The blog option of communication/diary entry/travel sharing is just wonderful isn't it? It does take time and commitment but worth every bit of the effort involved. All my love. Da/Trev (from the Central Australian Red Centre - Alice Springs and beyond. P.S. I will be travelled out to some communities west of Alice next week and on to Kings Canyon. I will do a canyon rim walk in memory of our time their Loos.
