Bangkok & Overnight train

Today the group heads out for a river tour in a long tail boat, before returning back to dock and heading for Wat Po, the Wat directly behind the Grand Palace that contains the reclining Bhudda.

We eat lunch with our guide at her University in the centre of Bangkok, and it costs only 30 THB (About 50 pence) including a drink. After lunch we head back to our hotel, pack, and then board our overnight train to Chang Mai. While waiting for our train there was a really dramatic thunderstorm with fork lightning, and we watched as cockroaches and rats ran across the platform seeking shelter (And one did, in my bag before it was discovered in Chang Mai).

Wat po - Wat phor?
What was the reclining bhuda for? Originally, what made someone think: Hey guys, I got a great idea... Not that it isn't really cool, just puzzling :)
