Arrival Bangkok late afternoon - the moment we have been waiting for ages! Modern futuristic airport, long taxi ride as we found out the taxi driver was unaware of his directions! Nick had an interesting Thai conversation with the taxi driver - it was a baffling conversation as neither understood each other! Arrived at guesthouse. Weather humid and lots of fumes.

Lots of beautiful roundabouts, and first glimpse of the spectacular Grand Palace. Numerous posters of the king and queen displayed everywhere. Accommodation still in the process of being built, so a little noisy and dusty, with paperthin walls - but clean! Evening snack - western style, then hit our beds. Difficulty adjusting to the new time zone and Ellie struggling with her cough and the high pollution levels.
