Nana Station
Climbing the stairs to the ticket platform, and then up to the train platform is not what I look forward to at 6:45 every morning. Today is a key day of the trip. Lots of shopping to do, and preparing for packing. But first, it’s time for one training session today. Restless night sleeping. A couple of work calls during east coast business time, but middle of the night here. I just waited for messages, and will deal with it later. It was enough to break up the sleep and be awake at 5:00. That left plenty of time to get a good stretch in. One thing I’ve noticed this trip is that there are many more people on the BTS with suitcases. Not sure if that because it’s easier to get from the airport to the hotels using BTS, of it’s saying there aren’t enough taxis at the airport. I was first at the gym again today and headed out for my run. The stretching does help. Finished 8 laps, and added a couple of longer sprints this time. Jumping rope was about 12 minutes today. It was cut short because the gym was pretty quiet and I could get my pad rounds in early. Round 1 was more of the same with some lead leg sweeps tossed in, and working that into a combination
Gym cat
All the pets here are different. There used to be 3 dogs, now only one and it stays well out of the way. This cat comes around all the time and just wants scratched. Along the alley where we run, it’s a cat obstacle course. with a hook and uppercut. Left speed kicks were on tap today to finish the round. I did take the video camera today, so I’ll see how everything looked on tape. The 2nd round was lots of everything as usual. It finished with right speed kicks. I barely got through those, and I think I counted 48 or 50. The power really dropped after about 44. In round 3 again today, there were no 10’s of kicks, although there were 10 teeps and knees. This round ended with alternating power left and right kicks. That was definitely preferable to an ending with more speed anything’s. The last round for the day was more focus mitts for boxing, and it ended with machine gun punches, and rubbery arms. Worked 100 knees and 100 teeps on the heavy bag, and then went over to weights. Lots of sit-ups today, and about 25 minutes of assorted weights, since it’s the only workout for the day. It was a slow walk to the lunch wagon, and to the BTS.
Once lunch was done and I showered, I headed over to Terminal 21. Found some nice things, and just meandered around since there was not deadline for the afternoon. Unfortunately, I may need to go back there tomorrow because I couldn’t find one of the stores I was looking for. We’ll see how tomorrow’s timeline goes. Walked down to Bully’s mostly to scope out the street vendors and shops. I’ll make another slow pass on the way back and hopefully close out shopping for this trip tonight. Even if it don’t I’ll be back early enough to pack at least one suitcase and maybe one carry-on bag. Did manage to find a few more souvenir shops closer to Bully’. Not the great selection as Krishna’s had, but still some nice stuff. Just a short installment today.
