After our first two days in Bangkok we set off on our first tour. This took us to the floating market in Damnoen Saduak, here we had some strange fruit and coconut milk for breakfast. We then took a boat ride around the canals near the floating market. We were then taken to see the River Kwai along the way here we saw a little baby tiger in a cage he was cute and had a funny little growl. After some lunch they took us on the death railway where health and safety is not an issue as we were allowed to hang out the door!

That night we stayed on a floating house which was far better than our previous accomodation although it was still pretty basic but a good experience. Met some friendly aussies and south africans. Spent the evening chilling out on the river.

Next morning we were up early for bamboo rafting on the river where we got to swim in the muddy water. After a quick change we went for an elephant ride it was amazing. We got to feed the elephants with small sized bananas. Next stop was at a museum called the hell fire pass where allied POW were forced to build the thailand to burma railway through the moutains during world war two. Finally after some lunch we had a quick stop at a waterfall before making the journey up the ancient town of Ayutthaya. The accomdation here was better again, had a lay in this morning and walked around the ancient ruins.

Tomorrow sometime we are heading up north to Sukhothai, but for now we will keep exploring and this evening we will go back to the night market for food, its very cheap. All of last nights tea cost us about two pounds not bad.

p.s After our first blog we went for a fish massage (see pic) andy really liked it, but it was a strange feeling it kind of tickled.

P.p.s we didnt hear about the explosion in bangkok till kris sent andy a msg last night, we are ok. x x x
