Taipei in the rain

Since I arrived in Taipei it has been raining pretty much non-stop 😞 So I had to change my plan to inside stuffs. So I went to the:
- National Palace Museum: it's ok. They have some great piece of Chinese art in there, a good exhibit on the Qing dynasty and mainly the emperor Qialong
- Presidential office: you need to show your passport to get in there and then you get a guided tour of the building and you learn about Taiwan under Japanese occupation. It was very interesting.
- Pinglin tea museum: about 1h away but definitely worth it and it's free.
- Moakong via the cable. The view over the city must be stunning in good weather. Taipei 101 just stand unchallenged in the landscape. It is just TALL.

And among other stuffs I
- spent a while tasting and buying tea
- tried to shelter from the rain as much as possible by going underground or in malls
- explored the shopping district of Xinmending
- went to night markets

Anyway, I think my best buy in Taipei was an umbrella!



Depuis que j'ai remis les pieds à Taipei, il pleut 😞 Donc du coup j'ai modifié mes plans pour rester à l'intérieur. Donc j'ai été à :
- National Palace Museum: ce n'est pas trop mal. Ils ont quelques trucs rares qui viennent de Chine et une bonne exposition sur l'art pendant la dynastie Qing et plus spécialement l'empereur Qialong.
- le musée du thé à Pinglin: c'est à 1h de route mais ça vaut le coup et en plus c'est gratuit
- le Presidential Office (équivalent de l'Elysée): il faut montrer son passeport pour rentrer et ensuite il y a une visite guidée à travers le rez-de-chaussée. C'était très intéressant pour apprendre l'histoire de Taiwan durant l'occupation japonaise
- Maokong en prenant le téléphérique. La vue sur la ville de Taipei doit vraiment être superbe quand il fait beau. Le Taipei 101 domine complétement le paysage, il n'a aucune compétition.

Et j'ai aussi
- passé du temps à goûter et acheter du thé
- essayé de rester le plus possible à l'abri de la pluie en étant en sous-sol ou dans des malls
- je suis allée dans les rues piétonnes de Ximending
- j'ai profité des nights markets

Bref, mon achat le plus utile pendant mon séjour à Taipei fut un parapluie.
