Better late than never, right?

I'm already about a month into the trip so I've decided to post my journal entry. Although, me being me, I only had one entry....

Yesterday I arrived in Taipei. I have decided to spend two months at the Mandarin Training Center at NTNU studying, of all things, Mandarin. I flew out of SFO on Monday at 1:35 AM and got in on Tuesday at 5:30 AM. Pretty crazy, right? I managed to find my way into Taipei and to Aunt Sue’s best friend’s house without too much trouble. The only slip up I made was letting the taxi driver leave with the paper with all of Jasmina’s phone numbers and address on it. Uh oh. Thankfully, I have Sue’s mother’s cell phone with me and, after calling a few numbers, I was able to get a hold of Jasmina. She took me to breakfast and on a quick stroll through the traditional market that surrounds her apartment. Afterwards, we spent the morning registering me for classes. After the Chinese Attack drill, which was from 1:30-2 PM, I went to orientation. I met a few people, everyone seems very nice. I met a nice guy named Kent, who was from Sydney. I was continuously surprised hearing this Australian accent coming out of this asian guy. It was like Cho Chang in Harry Potter having a Scottish accent. After I can back, I crashed pretty early and I woke up about an hour ago.
I really like it here; I like it enough that I could see myself living here. It’s really hot right now, but I did come at the hottest time of year. The food is amazing, For breakfast yesterday, I had a delicious vegetable bun and a glass of soymilk. It was the best. The most amazing part is that if I wanted, I could have that for breakfast everyday. So awesome! I am definitely coming here after school. Things that I would get as a treat back home are taken for granted here. Like bubble tea, its on every freaking corner and only about a dollar a glass. And did I mention the fruit? Amazing.
