Bamboo rice, wild boar meat, veg and mountain chicken and raw papaya soup
KPIs: To eat whatever we see on 十字路口,美食大三通 and all other Taiwanese variety shows.

We arrived in Taipei at around evening time. After we checked into the hotel, the first time we did was to dash to士林夜市. Before we get to the MRT station, we were already distracted by the food stalls along Ximending. From then onwards, we never gave our stomach a chance to rest.

To recount the stuff we ate and my verdict.

3 STARS
手抓饼: Prata with meat floss fillings. Interesting.
超大炸鸡排: Slightly different from S’pore. Has bones, served as one big piece. Yumsss…
棺材板: Fried toast with creamy filling. Crispy and creamy.
白玉苦瓜汁: Very refreshing.
麻辣鱼圆: Flavourful
扁食,红油抄手: We like the texture of the noodles best.
泡泡奶茶: It’s good everywhere.
山东甜/ 咸/ 黑豆浆,油条: 真材实料
肉饼: Yummy fillings. Nice even when cold.
鸡蛋火腿葱饼: Taste nice even when cold
萝卜糕: Even more yummy with chai po chilli sauce.
曾记麻薯: Never eaten such fresh muah chee
公正街小笼包: Worth the wait. The dip is the winning formulae.
卤猪脚,面线: The one bite of the “jelly” was quite nice, very 入味。But I like the sesame oil tossed mee sua better.
木瓜牛奶: Somehow it’s popular in Taiwan. Hopefully will help in enhancement of ….
山药枸杞鸡汤: 真材实料
Sweet potato豆花 at Yangmingshan: Douhua isn’t very smooth but the sweet potato is really sweet and I love the ginger soup.
鲨鱼丸 & 贡丸 @ Jiufen: Big balls… very springy, nice.
凤梨酥: Freshly baked. I like the pastry.
Green tea cheesecake & cookie: Particularly like the cookie.
炸螃蟹: Like the seasoning.
Oyster mee sua: Wish I had more…
Rice wine: Sweet sweet wine.
Hot spring egg: Served cold. Semi-cooked egg yolks
Boar meat Taiwan sausage: QQ
Atayal Dinner (Mushroom bamboo rice, raw papaya pepper soup, stir fry boar meat and dragon beard veg): Awesome! Esp the mushroom bamboo rice

大饼包小饼: Like the peanut taste but a bit too dry.
花支羹: Gluey sauce with chewy cuttlefish and sotong.
卤肉饭: 香, 入味. But I’m not a rice person.
鹌鹑蛋 taco balls: So high cholesterol but I can’t resist any eggs
朱妈妈糯米肠: Interesting. The glutinous rice is cooked just right.
甜思红豆蛋糕: Smooth and “red-beanful” in taste
Taiwan KFC: Their burger’s quite yummy.
阿宗面线: Don’t understand why the long queue.
甜不辣: So so lah… Not a fish cake person
蜂窝糕: Like the black sugar one.
草仔果 (red bean & cai po): A bit like 水晶包. Freshly steamed
芋圆: Supposedly famous in Jiufen. QQ but a bit tasteless.
Ice-cream peanut crepe: Interesting snack, never seen pasley added in ice-cream.
牛肉面 @ Raohe Night Market: Like the texture of noodles
Taiwan MacDonald’s Breakfast : Actually I can’t really taste the difference. In general, I like saugage McMuffin with eggs

蒸 饺: Along Ximending. Quite a disappointment. Not steaming hot.
蚝煎: The sweet sauce makes it a bit weird
臭豆腐: I had better ones in HK and Shanghai.
猪血糕: We just wanted to try… Once and for all
酸辣汤 &贡丸汤: Nothing fantastic
紫玉米: Too soft and coated with a weird tasting sauce.
九层塔炒螃蟹: Crab not fresh. But gravy is quite flavourful
鸭舌头: Finally get to taste it. But not exactly something I would eat as a snack.
蛇肉汤: Erm… just wanted to sample. Meat like tough chicken breast meat.
永和豆浆: The meat bao is horrid.
Mini 山鸡: Nothing spectacular
Juice comprising of 32 fruits & vegetables: Interesting advertisement but yucks!

I believe there’s actually many more items I missed out.
