yeah. those would be some fun words to hear if you enjoy being naked and exposed for everyone to see and were surrounded by a lot of hot boys---but since you were with four foreign girls in a hot springs with all asian woman--yeah. it was an experience. So I spent the New Year in Taipei with my favorite people in Taiwan. we had some good laughs, and food. Saturday we( rach, muoy and i) headed up to Taipei to meet Leah, our wonderful friend who we met at the MOE during orientation and nicole and lynice. we went to lunch and then to a taiwanese tea shop-we had a great time exprience the real way to enjoy the tea---Leah had brought a friend, who had the sweet job of being a personal assistant to a hot rockstar here-so he had some good stories. The tea shop was really cool because we got to sit on the floor and then taste the two types of tea we ordered, but they way they had to make the tea was interesting and it was really enjoyable----we then were going to enjoy dinner at the most famous dumpling rest. but the wait was
three hours. YEAH THREE HOURS AND THE LINE WAS MASSIVE. so we put our name in and then went to the popular hang out area in taipei and walked around and saw FOREIGNERS haha and enjoyed some shaved ice dessert with fresh fruit, where rach then proceeded to get a little sick, it didnt stay in her body too long. but she was fine after. the dumplings were very good very good, as were the beef noodles, and green veggies, those things are my favorite, i dont know what i am going to do when i have to go home and cant order them. i dont think i will be able to cook them myelf. sucks. o well tho. sunday...we then headed to the Hot Springs, which we had been waiting for to go to for forever.....it is kinda funny when i think back at it...but yeah. we were told we could wear our swimsuits and that if we chose to go in the bigger "pool" it owuld be cheaper and there was only a "few" people in there...so we change and walk aobut to the hot springs.....i think i might have stoped dead in my tracks as i noticed
not a "few" but about two dozen naked asian women--all ages--all sizes..relaxing in these hot tubs...WTF. i didnt know what to do. i being the naieve american, tried to get into one of the pools when the old women start yelling at me..im liek what they said we could wear swimsuits...ha WELL TURNS OUT YA CANT. it would ruin the sulfer or something like that. this girl who spoke really good english came over and helped us and talked to us--so my friends and i really got to know eachother after that experince. haha. leah then ordered us some amazing food. and a lot of it. but it was delicious and i love the lazy susan where u can just spin the thing around til you get too the food dish you want. haha. that night we did some shopping--i couldnt resist. NET was having a huge sale..i got a pair of pants, a winter coat, and two shirts. for 1,400NT..are you ready for this....converted to ooooo $35 american dollars. yeah and it was all excellent quality and so frekain cute. i am pretty much obsessed with my coat. I think rach and I always get lucky shopping in that
sotre when we are together. they always have the buy 5 get your purchase 50% off. YES! gotta love it. so then that night we met. mike and jason and two of mikes friends, for dinner and to head to Taipei 101 to watch fireworks. there WERE SO MANY FREAKIN PEOPLE. but i think since rach and i had already been to hong kong and the maddness it was there, helped us when we were in the madness at taipei 101 for fireworks. but they were worth it. and dont think i didnt enjoy a few pijios as i was waiting. after the fireworks and aobut the 20 minutes to walk 10 steps to get out we headed to a coffee shop as it was laready 3 am-haha and i had a train to catch in four hours. but we had some coffee and i got some doritos. I also proceeded ot make frineds with an asian girl who had really "cool glasses" and forced her to take a picture with me and then i found a sweet glow stick head thing that i then paraded around taipei--im real COOL. ha. more like a tool. but whatever i had a
good time. monday I LAID around all day and jodi and i headed to what was supposed to be this amazing western breakfast at a rest. that is usually fantastic but of course, thus is our life, and it totally sucked and we spent way too much money for food we could have made our selves. the service sucked, as did the cold food. eghh life goes on. since we had no school on monday, it was just a fun hang over day...we also wanted this papya salad at the tai rest. but when we arrived it was closed. once again. this is our life. And since we also had no school monday, it was goign to be another short week. I have a ton of planning to do for winter camp, which i dont know why i sometimes put a whole lot of time and work and effort into planning when most of the time..i hear "no cant do this. we want this..." ughhhhhhhh so frustraing. lets just hope it all works out in my meeting next week!!!
