We're kinda missing the family so we make weekly calls home via Skype or our Magic Jack phone. The family is large and there is a lot to say and hear. It helps make living in another country manageable. Here are some of the unique things about living in Taiwan. NO TIPPING! We met for breakfast at 7:30 and then 7 of us hit the road on 6 scooters.

We left the city, and headed up into the hills to visit the Mud Volcanoes.

This one burps loudly every 15 to 30 seconds and occasionally a bit of mud overflows the lip

This fancy country restaurant is a favorite of ours. They also sell herbs in small pots. We bought a couple of mint chocolate plants.

They grow fish, crabs, shrimp and more in these shallow, aerated ponds.

We rode along the mountain tops, winding along a paved road and enjoying the fresh air and the views.

At the top of the mountain, we are able to buy fruits and drinks.

We watched this huge spider for a long time. There were 2 of these, and they were bigger than our hands. Linda was totally creeped out!

The center of this old railway bridge has been washed away, luckily, there is a newer one not far away.

Wow!!
Glad you two are having such a blast. Makes the blizzard of Sunday here seem rather inconsequential. Don't know if I could handle the traffic - particularly on a scooter!! Hope to see you when you get home. Keep smiling!! Cheers, Diane
