one of many
All the camels were decorated with their own style of henna tattoo's maybe somethin to do with where they were from or maybe not... who knows. I didn'tSo it's been about two/three weeks since I last updated everyone, but thats not always a bad thing. As this time I've just been really busy and havin a great time since I last wrote. After leaving Hampi I slowly started to feel better as my boddy/mind recovered from the exhausting india trip I put myself through(I was way way to ambitious and ended up nearly destroying the india section of the trip). Today I paid my first weekly room/food bill here in Hikkadewa and will probably be here at least another few days. I'm thinking of moving down the island a little farther to try and find a less crowded break but we'll see what happens. Most people seem to come and just get stuck here in Hikkadewa, which might end up happening to me but again, we'll see.
Since bein here I've been hanging out mainly with a crew of italian boys who sometimes come out and surf with me and give me tips. Surfin with them can be both a good and bad thing... when they drag me out we always end up out there for like 3 hours because we dont head in until i've ridden

rhajastan
classic buildings from rhajastan... well the style chagnes from place to place.. but you get the ideaa few good waves and it usualy means me getting caught inside numerous times and them sitting out back laughin at me trying to learn to duck dive and getting absolutely no-where. Then once i'm out, guess what, it's just in time for the next set. So tallis, gidde'yup and please let me ride this one in so I dont have to paddle anymore and I can maybe relax for a few minutes before more duck'dive practice. haha So i'm getting a crash course because Fran is always tryin to get me to come out to the main break but... haha I would not last at all.
Ok, so as you can tell I dont really do much but wake-up/surf/eat/read/walk-around/read/eat/table-tennis/surf/eat/movie/bed and repeat. It's good fun, but I'm gonna admit that i'm not in paddlin shape at all. Muscles you just cant work outside of the water are flaring up one at a time everyday on different days. It's crazy, I am deffinately not in as good shape as most surfers and write now some part of the inside of my left bicep is the most swore but yesterday it was the left delt and before that the lats and

the fair
a view of the sunset over the camel fair from one of the two hills that makes pushkar a holy city. (All the dots on the desert at the edge of the buildings are the locals and their livestock camping out behind the grounds)tommorow, agh.. it'll be something else for sure.
The next question most of you would ask would be... well how's the surf goin? Honestly i've been havin a great time trying to learn. I started on a mini-mal(7.5feet long) and was standing up and turning some on the big waves quite easily, but the 30$renting a week was kinda getting to me. So I bought my two fin 5'11 Fish tail that will be alright for me to learn on. It's really wide and hella thick so it floats like crazy. Today was my first full day on it and it's deffinately harder then the longer board but I still stood up and rode a few for a little ways today. It's funny, I get so excited at the slightest improvement that happens daily, and not only is the improvement so small from yesterday, but it'll happen maybe once all day. As is surfing i've been told, but it's super addicting, the one little piece of success keeps me workin so hard all day and then it comes always near the end and gets me up the next morning.
So also, I finaly put up some camel fair

camel fair parade
(no one new about this event to be honest)and hampi pictures for everyone(maybe I did already I forget) but most of them are from here in Hikkadewa. As you can imagine life isn't too busy here but it's not always a bad thing because after workin so hard all morning theres nothin I can do but relax if I'm hopin to get out again in the afternoon.
My future has been semi-determined now. I've booked or am about to book my flights from here to BKK on March 1'ish then get a return ticket from BKK down to Bali to meet up with hansi and kyle for 3weeks/amonth before returnin back to thailand for a few days before headin'er home.
Anyways, hope xmas goes well for everyoen. I have no idea what my plan is, where i'll be and what i'll be doin. Most likely if the waves are good i'll be here with my surfboard(my xmas present this year which I got a stealin deal on by the way) or maybe..... who knows.

I see you've found time enough to shave. That's a good sign. Happy Christmas and I'll see you when I'm 26, maybe with a rockin' pair of flip flops? You'll have to buy a nice road bike when you come back. We'll experience the beauty of our own flipin' back yard eh?
