***Sometimes taking a short trip to a close by area is a cool thing to do here.** This particular Saturday we flagged down a taxi outside the gate and went to the Artsy area in Seoul known as "Insadong". On saturdays they block the streets from cars entering so thats a good day to take your kids as well. There were alot of shops dealing with tea and tradintional lil rice snacks you would eat with tea. The Koreans ideal of sweets is a diffrent than the American pallet. The tend to use honey of frutose derived from fruits to sweeten their food. So the treats look like your going to get a sugary taste but you do not. Israel in Seoul and Free hugs Shalom Y'all from Korea In an effort to meet new people, I decided to go to a get together with the Jewish community from the Yongsan military post. I found out about this event through the Israeli people I met a few weeks ago. (See previous post) They were having a potluck at the top of a high rise building. On my way there from Pyeongchon, I bumped into another English teacher I met in my yoga class and invited her along. Wouldn't you know I must have bumped into the only Jew in Pyeongchon while I was on my way to this event.
