As we did our rounds last Saturday @ Lorong 4 Toa Payoh, the plight of some of the elderly folks staying in the 1-bedroom flats struck me.
For some, it must have been quite sometime since they welcomed their last visitor.
I could feel that they longed that we could spend more time talking to them.
They were happy that we managed to pop by and distribute the provisions which could probably see them through for the next month. As we bade goodbye to the old folks and volunteers, it was uncertain if there would be another community event this year in the wake of the financial crisis.
