Tissues Anyone!
O Dear- Rather a tearful Farewell! O well after a very tearful farewell at the airport we were about to embark off on our trip of a life time!
Quick bit of naughty duty free shopping and then straight onto the plane where we got ourselves comfortable for our long journey ahead- or so we both thought!!!!!!
Next minute before we had even chance to take off, our individual TVs were touching our noses due to the two little short arses sat infront of us!!! Typical! This happened for the whole journey aswell as them throwing their hands in the air to stretch and then resting them on the back of their seats so that their sweaty hands were covering our screens, ruining the film we had been watching for an hour!
But this annoyance was made up for by the meals fit for Queens which turned up in front of us every couple of hours!!! Of course not wanting to be rude we both took full advantage and ending up rolling off the aircraft!!!! Budgeting starts now........................
Got off the plane and fancied a little chit chat, so had a little sit down (like we haven't been sat down enough already!!!)- like
Slightly Delerious!
Us leaving our room for the first time after beeing up well over 24 hrs!!!! Off to explore! you do and eventually made it to the carosel and no bags to be seen or people!!!!!! O well everyone had collected theirs and gone, we paniced a little then spotted the two giant loads that we expect to be able to carry on our backs!!!!!!
Waiting for our Airport Shuttle (which mum we found out about and booked all by ourselves- very proud moment!!) we met a little man from Singapore (Singaporean?-must find that out!!) having a nosey over our shoulders at pictures taken at the airport, we got chatting, first question "You from Manchester? Manchester United Fans?...........", we reply "Huge Fans (!!!!!!!)"................managed to get some good advice off him bout places to see and go, but mainly about where the best restaurants were!!!!
Arrived in style at the Hangout hostel- in our Mercedes shuttle and wow we are loving this hostel!!!! Upgraded already (although we didnt manage it on the flight- we'll try harder on next one!) got a double/single bed and private bathroom!!!!And views over looking the whole of Singapore! Dumped our bags, taken full advantage of the brews and internet on tap! Not slept for 2 days so considering a nap then maybe onto
The Mosque
Beautiful...... Raffles for a quick Sling!!!!
Love Becks and Vix xxxx
Bear and Kat- Thanks so much for seeing me off you two big softies!!!
Jord - Put yours and Karls name down for the room already!!
...................................................Ahhhh! Had our little cat nap..............
Even though we found it hard to rip ourselves from our cosy beds we thought we better make the most of our day and start to explore!
Armed with a map (although we failed to look at it once!)and camera we left the hostel to walk the streets of Singapore, in temperatures of around 30 C and quite an interesting smell! Of course, naturally drawn to the shops we searched a few..................and were quite controlled- we must say! Had a little wander round Little India and then our attention was drawn to a loud chanting voice coming from a mosque, visiting hours were closed and we weren't appropriately dressed so will hopefully go tomorrow. The locals are so nice and friendly here, even though we haven't seen many travellers you don't get hassled or stared at alot which I though you would. Feels really safe. We wandered round a bit more
Shops...................!!!!
These little statues caught our eye..... everything is so colourful!Chinese New Year over here so lots of symbolic stuff for sale.............. but the heat and tiredness was starting to kick in- feeling slightly delirious we headed back, but called in at the local supermarche for a few essentials.....water, fruits and .......crisps!!!! The supermarket was amazing (Fran and Al, know you'll be laughing at this bit- all the girl does is talk about food!!!!!!) full of cool stuff........ cheesey bean curd bits!!-Yummy- our new cheap found friends! 20p- bargin!
Headed back to hostel and stuffed our faces then showered. Before we went out we had a few pictures on our roof top terrace! Views are absolutely amazing- like a scene from a film (Lost in Translation) took photies on big mama camera and the didgies could not capture how amazing it was. On foot to Raffles- this time using our map(!) we stopped for some food- of course!!Again very cheap but tasty!Loving this place!
Eventually (very hot and sweaty) we arrived at Raffles Hotel!!! Or shall we say mini city! Spoilt for choice which bar to have our Sling in!!!! $17 dollars later, we were hoping that the Sling wouldn't have taken to our taste buds as much but we were wrong and had to have alot of will power
not to order 10 more- since we are meant to be bugeting and all that! Headed then for a Tiger beer in this quaint area we past on the way to Raffles, Chimjes. It was beautiful......... the enterance was a white church with bars and shops in the grounds. Met a very annoying little guy from Manchester- typical, we made a sharp exit as the annoying little guy and lack of sleep really didnt mix well!!! Walked back (gosh never done so much walking in our lives!) getting slightly lost but our beds were calling so made it back in the end!!!!
Untill next time........ lots of love
