View from Room at Sentosa Resort So this is where my 'listing by day' plan comes unstuck. Travelling so far east around the planet the whole time thing gets a little wobbly, and my body doesnt know whether its hungry, tired, hot or cold.
A nice night in the Delmere in London and a good breakfast too. Rain stopped for a short while so decided to walk to Paddington station. It was less than quarter of the distance to walk than a black cab (one way streets). Todays travelling surpassed all other, everything fell together like kids jigsaw. I walked into Paddington station and found the sign to the Heathrow Express. Girl told me I had 2 mins to board - great timing (and if i missed it, another one left in 15 mins) Went to the front of the train, parked the luggage and sat back for the blistering 15min journey to Heathrow. These fast trains are super quiet and smooth.
Made the transition to terminal 3 and checkin. Tried out a scale in the hall, my bag was 19.8kg, which is great, i am allowed 20kg. check in and now my bag weights 21.7kg !!!! Mark was right, the checkin scales are favoured

View from room at Sentosa Resort to the airline. I am informed I can have 25kg anyway, which is news to me. All my doco says 20kg. Didnt argue, drank all my water (cant take it with you), changed some money and headed to immigration, probably to get undressed again. So many check points for so many different things. I am learning the protocol, take off your shoes, jacket and belt. Stuff everything in your bag and smile like you mean it, greet them with a hearty hello, they love that.
OK, I am now international side and do a spot of shopping. I have made it here with 90mins to spare, just how i like it. Gate number appears and walk miles to get there. Fantastic, they have lined up the new A380, 500 people on two decks. I am on the third row of the lower deck, and board last, not too shabby. This plane is a monster, when the engines lit up for take off, the noise level change was barely noticable, and it effortlessly lifted off the runway in such a short run up. This plane is smooth and quiet. I watched 3 movies and 4 sitcoms and managed around 2 hrs sleep in the 12hr journey. The landing was just as smooth, cleared customs and collected my bag.
Now for the best bit. Theres my driver standing there with my name on his placard. Have always wanted to do that. He brings the mercedes around and cheauffers me to the resort. This place is lovely, but my body thinks its midnight and needing sleep, and its 8am. I tried to read by the pool but kept falling asleep. Its important to stay up, but wont manage another 12 hours so give in and have a sleep for 5 hours.
I went to the spa and had a full body massage for 90 minutes. I feel a little more human, the back pain from sitting in the plane has faded, will grab something to eat and head off to bed. And its great to have free internet - yey. Its friday (I think), lost quite a bit by flying east, but its all good.
Bye for now.
