Raffles Hotel
Famous for its Singapore Sling A city tour later, chat online, dinner in a Hawker centre, and shop in Bugis Village, we wind up home tired with very sore feet.
We covered so many places on the City tour - drive past Suntec City (massive shopping centre) and Raffles Hotel, brief shop in a Little India arcade, picture taking near the Merlion statue, shopping in Chinatown, visit to a jewellery factory and stroll through the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
We bought a few souvenirs from both Little India and Chinatown and I also finally got an ice-cream sandwhich from the ice-cream stand at the harbour. The funniest thing also happened there....these 2 Japanese girls asked to have a photo with Todd! 😊 It was so funny! We actually thought they were volunteering to take OUR photo but no they wanted a solo photo each with Todd.
We learnt a fair bit about Singapore on the tour. It went for about 4 hours and our guide (Irene) was really informative. There were a few on the tour actually. Some from the US, some from South America, and some from the Philippines.
After the tour we got online and had a chat with our parents
Merlion
Me & Todd posing with the Merlion statue (the white lion/fish statue in the background) using MSN Messenger. Seeeee! I knew bringing the laptop was a good idea! After that we grabbed dinner at the Hawker centre (food court) next door. Food is SO cheap! Love it!
We walked to Bugis Village and strolled around the night markets. Lots of clothes, some imitation stuff, cds, jewellery, bags, and shoes. I ended up buying some t-shirts for me and Todd got some souvenirs. We also loaded up on some bottled water and bowls for our Mi Goreng brekkie tomorrow.
Walking back we stopped in at Maccas and tried their milkshakes and soft serves, also stopping at the 7-11 picking up a few snacks and drinks for tonight / tomorrow.
Well must go...we are about to do laundry in the bathroom and then are going to watch a movie on the laptop. We burnt a whole bunch of movies John downloaded from the net. 😊
