...and missing life in SA!! But not to worry - not too down, missing my friends and SA itself loads, but I know I'll see them again soon :p s'all good!!

So after last time, I printed some photies then me and Iona hoyed it to find some Vetkoek (a doughy thing Monkey said I must try) found some and ate it in a church yard. Went down to the waterfront to try and find David and James and got distracted by the Oysterfest Funfair :p awesome!! Screamed lots on rides, ate ice-cream and bought earrings. Went down to Loerie Park to find Willie and his stall - met his sis, and bumped in to the guy we met at the backpackers (med-student guy) hoyed it back to the backpackers to pick up our bags, got a crazy-taxi back to Sedge, I hate how they charge white folks more, pricks. Talked to Fuller for ages - she just talked about how her gf is "the one" quite funny, this gal must be a miracle maker to do this to Fuller!! Saw Candi, met her new 18-year old bf and had road banter :p after going to Chats and having "Chattanoga" shots (stuff they set on fire) was awesome. Me and Iona hoyed it to bed after I wrote a letter.

Sat (12th) - got up early to pick up the car - Lynn and Iona's lean mean green machine :p (fiat palio if anyone's interested) :p hoyed it to the market for the last time (in the rain!!) was a bit sad, but nice. Talked to the fishermen guys, chowed, bought Iona a necklace, hoyed it back to base after doing the reverse Cloud 9 route, and Iona straightened my hair and we did make-up for ages, too funny!! Hoyed it to Knysna for Prime Ciecle!! Cruised about 1st tho, and went to a posh resorty-type place - ended up going on to a Navy Ship and talking to the guy for part of the festival, was kool!! Chatted to a random, then went to the waterfront to meet the guys, then went to the funfair (again) :p and we wooped Willie at the dodgems!! Oh yes. Went on a few more rides, then drove down to Loerie Park for the gig!! Prime Circle were relaly awesome, right at the front, such a clean sound!! I prefer it a bit jaggier myself, but still awesome. Parlotones were on next - they were really good, not as in to them though. Waited for aaaages to get served at the understaffed bar, then danced away to the DJ sets (Iona's "making space" dancing will go down in history!!) :p then waited with Jammers to buy chip n' dip. Drove home, after dropping off the guys at Willie's maws & got our stuff we left in the combi. Was shattered, had to open the window to stay awake!! Crashed out as soon as we got back :p

Sun 13th - got up fairly early and hoyed to Oudtshoorn to see Henk!! Longish drive, nice though, awesome scenery. Got to his, saw photos, met his parents, played playstation (I got awesome at a car game) :p had traditional Afrikaans Sunday Lunch with his famnily - we said grace and everything :S hoyed to the Cango Caves so Iona could see them, did the adventure tour, was awesome!! Iona got stuck in a tunnel (nearly) :p and a guy got stuck in the postbox!! :p was moist and warm in the cave, such a good laugh though. Hoyed it to a steakhouse for dinner after buying chocs for Henk's family at Pick N' Pay - spoke to Tash on the phone, was so awesome!! I miss her 😞 tried to speka to the family and Roy, but the line was rubbish. Henk bought us a surprise Calamari starter, bless him!! Hoyed it back to Henk's, and watched Braveheart - can't believe that's the 1st time I've seen it all the way through!! Was so awesome. Conked out in bed.

Mon 14th - played some playstation, had a bath(!!) then hoyed it to the pharmacy in Oudtshoorn - got my ears washed, bloody sore when the woman poked my ear!! Got more eardrops, then dropped Henk back home and said bye... was sad!! 😞 drove to the George Mall, stopping off at the railway museum on the way so Iona could pee/see it!! Was kool - ran around it to stay warm, was flippin' freezing!! Saw Ice Age 3 after buying a Prime Circle CD :D was a relaly good film. Hoyed it back to Sedge, after checking out a chocolate shop on the way back, bought some whitre choc honeycomb stuf, very nice!! Filled up the car, and took it back, then chilled with Iona - Rudolf made a surprise visit, was kool to see him!! Went to bed after chatting to my Iona.

Tue 15th - woke up late, then me and Iona went on our respective runs - I went up by the beach then alllll the way down to Tiffany's Tavern and back, nice and long!! Got back and had to go check out the car - apparently I scratched it, but it was fine, they polished it out :p did sit-ups and the like, then chatted and ate and showered. Iona cut my hair - and did a bloomin' good job as well!! Its a hell of a lot shorter, the shortest its been in a while, but I like it 😊 went to print more photos but it was shut, so we went and make tuna for lunch (Nikki let us loose in the rations roon) :p and got stuff ready for surfing!! Willie picked us up, and we hoyed to Buffles - was a lot of fun, the guys went in 1st, me and Iona went walking on the beach and chatted on our mound :p then went in - I was the only hardcore one, just in my bikini :p actually knew what I was doing this time, and caught some waves!! Had a lot of 1-knee/1-foot action on the go hehe, and Iona wiped us both out on the best wave!! Still managed to bodyboard it though :p hoyed back to base, said goodbye to James 😞 will see him again in a couple months though, s'all good!! Stirling freshers week, YEA!! :D:D:D went up to see Candi, stopping in at La Piazza on the way, and Garry told us that Candi's dad had taken her to Cape Town :S sinister stuff!! Went up anyway to see Jo, was kool, funny though, they didn't recognise me at the door at 1st and they kaked themselves!! :p chatted to them, then arranged to pop round the following night to say bye. Got a lift back, then hoyed to bed.

Wed 16th - got up pretty early to sort stuff out!! Hoyed a shower and brekkie, then wrote my experience letter and some postcards and checked my flights - glad I did, as my flight from Dubai to S'pore had changed!! Now a 7 and a half wait in the airport... daaaaaaaamn!! :p glad Grandad managed to do it, would have been bad if I hadn't got that sorted!! Dave and Chris and Themba came back to base, yay!! So happy to see Chris before I left :D Nadia also came back. Got laundry done for the last time, then me and Iona printed photies and I sent my rucksack home :p spoke to Roy, was awesome, hoyed lunch then hitched to George in a lorry, was an awesome experience, couldn't leave SA without hitching a ride 😉 guy was nice, so funny though, talked so much rubbish and tried to read our palms and said we were 'naughty' deary me. It stopped so quick as well!! Met Nadia and Themba there, and realised we would have to wait for the later showing of HP, so me and Nadia and Iona drank a hell of a lot of coffee at Mugg&Bean, so funnym had bottomless coffees and were totally wired byt he end of it, ran around the mall, played piano at the music shop very fast :p and saw HP - was awesome!! So happy I got to see it :D managed to sketch a lift back off Garry, he's so awesome to us!! Iona made someone pick up their litter at the Maccy Dee's drivethrough, so funny. Hoyed it to Jo's and had pizza with her and the kids, gave her wine and met some visitors she had (still not sure who they were) anhd helped push-start their buckie!! Went to Chris's parents to say bye, chatted a lot, they dropped us back at base and I was trying to pack while talking to maw on the phone and went to Chat's for a last drink with Iona and Dave and Chris, was actually reallly kool, even though someone tried to chat up me and Iona - we told him we were lesbians and he believed us and went away, how awesome!! :p went back and we all sat around for ages, wrote in David's book... didn't wanna go to sleep, cuz when I woke up I'd be leaving!! Me and Iona chatted for ages then read each other's books... she really is the most sensational girl, I love her to bits, can't believe I've made such an awesome friend, going to miss her something crazy!! Fell asleep in her bed at about half 4...

...and got up at half 6 to shower, brekkie and finish packing!! Checked e-mails quickly, said bye to Chris and Dave, then hoyed it to the airport with Deon and Iona. Held on to her the whole way, we couldn't believe this was it... had some banter with Deon, was funny. Still surreal that I was leaving though... got the airport, Deon wrote in my book :p went to pee, checked in, gave Deon his pressie, said bye to him, then he left us to say bye to each other... that was hard, but I held it together pretty well I reckon!! Once again, was horrible to see your friend cry, but I've got better at the whole goodbye thing - had to do it so often now!! :p so was pretty gutted saying bye, but I'll see her in December, and I'm happy I've made one of the best friends a girl could have 😊 Monkey called while I was in the departure lounge, was so awsome to speak to her before I left!! Plane from George to Jo'burg was kool, chatting to an interesting archeologist called Eric from Arizona on the way. Got my luggage, spoke to Sifiso, Nolyn and Henk briefly on the phone - they all called before I left, how sweet eh?! Nearly missed the flight to Dubai cuz I was in the wrong part of the airport!! Fixed myself in time though :p and had 3 seats to myself!! Watched "Changeling" and "He's Just Not That In To You" the former being awesome!! Listened to music as well, they have some awesome music on their fabulous entertainment system. Then the 7.5-hour wait in Dubai... dear god, that was hellish. Walked around the airport a few times, tried to sleep on a chair then a lounger chair, drooled, got up and went to the flight in a daze, was sitting beside 2 other folk this tme, but the flight wasn't as bad as I thought it would be - watched "Taken" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic", both being really good!! The guy next to me was a total alkie, was so funny. Listened to mare gid beatz, stopped in Colombo for an hour (!!) to re-fuel and let like 2 or 3 people on/off :p by the time I got to Singapore I was pretty shattered. Was kool to see Paul and Inny again, though one of the first things Paul said to me was "you've got even plumper" but its fine, was expecting that, and it is true, for sure :p hoyed it back to the flat after stopping to buy fruit, then showed them some photies and called mum, left messages on Roy/Iona's voicemails, and went to bed after facebooking :p

And today, Sat 18th, woke up at 1 in the afternoon(!!) was bloomin' jetlagged!! Had a shower/brekkie, and Paul and Inny took me to the doctors (found one open eventually) and after much confusion about prices saw a doctor, who syringed my ears (again!!) - couldn't get the wax about and was bloomin' sore in one ear, but it worked in a way - could hear again in my left ear!! :D he referred me to the hospital doctor though, so he could suck the rest of the wax out. So after a Killerny's coffee (who'd have thought cremora coffee could be so good?!) :p went to the hopital, saw the senior nurse hwo took a description, then saw the doctor, who then told me that he didn't have the specialist equipment, so to go to the specialist!! Daaaaaaaamn :p so made an appointment for Monday. There was a scary toilet that washed your ass for you, found it very amusing :D this doc gave me olive oil though, and more painkillers, so all is well with the world :D went to the supermarket to buy stuff (they keep trying to get me to eat kak!!) and got take-out fish soup, very nice!! Went back to the flat and ate it, was pretty tired, so quickly called maw and left messages with Roy and Iona to say I'd arrived safe, watched the start of a movie anout an old emporer of China (really interesting actually!!) played about with the laptop and hoyed to sleep.

Sun 19th - got up nice and early for a very nice run!! Felt good - so much harder to run here than in SA though, let alone the UK!! Sooooo incredibly humid, was sweating proper buckets for the rest of the day :p hoyed a shower and brekkie, then went to church, hehe!! Was actually a good service, shame it was so long though (communion) they had a band and a projector with the prayers/songs on it, and seemed quite colloquial and relaxed - don't think I'll be goinbg back next week though :p had lunch in the botanical gardens, then went back to the flat to get ready for squash. Paul wanted to play his mates first, so me and Inny went to buy food/a picnic mat for the open-air ballet I'd convinced them to go to that niight :D played squash for like 10mins and Paul got cramp, so went and swam instead :D was nice - again, with the humid air, I find it makes it harder!! I'm convinced this hot air tricks my lungs in to thinking I';m taking in less oxygen :p went strraight to Fort Canning Park for the ballet - was a little late so missed most of the 1st dance, but the 2nd dance, about blacks and whites was relaly interesting, the 3rd one (not sure what iot was about) was awesome, and the last one was a modern one set to pop songs, that was really fun!! Really enjoyed it actually, something a bit different. Went back to the flat and watched more of that film, then hoyed to bed.

And today (Mon 20th) - got up late-ish and got taken for a McDonalds breakfast (they kept going on about it) - it was actually not too bad, not as big as I thought it would be!! Got dropped at the Botanical Gardens so I could explore it on my own, after having a bit of an argument with Paul, but decided to let it go, especially as he was overly nice to me for the rest of the day - feel a bit sorry for him really. Saw the eco-garden, which was relaly nice, didn't get to see it last time. Did sis-ups inb the middle of the park, got funny looks off folk and the grasscutters :p saw 2 married couples gettings pics taken as well - one was wearing a deep red dress, was so kool!! Sweated ridiculous amounts, and got picked up to go to the hospital to get my earwax sucked out - and it actually worked (you should have seen the balls of wax!!) incredible. After that, went for dinner at a chicken place then went croc-shopping (Paul wanted to buy me 2 pairs - and he had the cheek earlier to call me a spoilt brat?!) as they didn't have the pink ones I liked in my size, got awesome khaki camoflage-style ones (not actual camo - they are sweet though) and got ornaments as well - including the Scottish and South African flags :D prolly won't actually stick them on though, would look funny. They insisted on buying me some crazy sour-fruit thing, which was really nice!! And Inny bought me new shorts, cuz my old white ones were a state :p she really is awesome, does so much and cares as well, have a lot of respect for her (though she does way too much for Paul, he's so lazy around the house). Came back to the flat, and SPOKE TO MY BOYFRIEND ON SKYPE, LIKE ACTUALLY SAW HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 6 MONTHS!!) It was so awesome, like really. Put to rest a lot of worries, he's such an awesome boyfriend, don't know what I did to deserve it :p well happy now. Really doesn't seem like 6 months ago now I left... daaaaaamn!! Anyway, need to write an e-mail to the Outward Bound Singapore School (they said I need to write what I want in an e-mail and they'll forward it to the right people) - the guy seemed pretty optimistic about me getting to see it though, so hopes up!!

Really missing Iona right now, and South Africa in general, but getting through :p xxxxxxxxxx
