Day 6 - Encenada Beach Resort On Wednesday, I had just finished breakfast at our lovely Mexican restaurant. For anyone reading this and wondering about food on Puerto Galera, I highly recommend this restaurant, even if you're not staying at Badladz. It is a Muelle Pier and it is part of Badladz. It is just scrumptious...maybe I've been deprived of food living in Korea but I still have orgasmic daydreams about the food there. As I was tottering back upstairs from my ecstasy inducing meal, all these guests showed up at check-in. So far, there had been few guests and we had been tended to very well. Not only were these guests ancient in age, but they also looked grouchy as they were shaking their heads and frowning at the counter line-up. Now, who goes on ... read more

Day 7 - Tamaraw Falls, Hidden Paradise, Hanging Bridge, and Jungle Kayaking For just under $50 (2000 pesos), we decided to go on an organized tour to see the falls. Now, the falls were just falls and we took the necessary photos and left within 10 minutes. BUT the tour was still totally worth it. They drive you around the island and you get a great view of the water and jungles below. And our driver played Bob Marley so I was really feelin' it. After the falls, we were going swimming somewhere called the "hidden paradise". In my research I hadn't come across this but it's totally worth it. It's a big pool of water that runs into the river with small waterfalls that you can slide down. It's totally awesome. Sunny day, refreshing swim, ... read more

My friend and I took a trek to Calapan today. The city itself was ok. It was grungy, polluted, crowded. But what made it worthwhile was the trip back. It's about an hour and a half each way by jeep. Going there sucked because I almost got car sick sitting in the back of the jeep, not being able to see anything. We got off at Tamaraw Falls to take pictures then walked along the road to Villaflor, a hamlet about 2 miles down the road. We hung out there to take a break. From there we took another jeep to Calapan. We were getting worried waiting because the jeeps that passed by had people sitting on the roof. Stefan wanted to sit up there, I told him I'll sit inside and watch his stuff. Calapan ... read more

My older brother Tristan, just arrived in the Philippines after working in a Royal Caribbean Luxury liner for 8 months. He just can’t wait to jump into Philippines’ beaches. With little time in my hands, I dug into my old travel files to head to a place with the beach, nightlife, & activities we needed for a quick getaway. I also wanted to explore a new destination. Since all of us have visited Puerto Galera already, I decided to put some twist by going farther into Oriental Mindoro’s Tamaraw falls & Ponderosa. My wife, Valerie, was kind enough to drop off the boys, Pen, Tristan & I to the closest bus station, Jam Liner at East avenue at Quezon City. We left there at 6AM. We arrived at the Batangas Pier at 9AM. While we were ... read more
