Phill's Front Door
To open this door you have to reach in and unlock a padlock from the inside, take it off and slide a bar over. Then unlock another door inside. A very long day
Phill made eggs with mackerel over rice for breakfast. I'm getting tired of "things on rice" for every meal. We all got ready to go to the temple. Phill looked so good in his suit. We went over to Chona's and she was still getting ready so she scurried upstairs. The man we hired with the van was late but we got to the temple alright. They all went in and I waited. I walked around a bit but didn't really feel well. I think the food finally caught up to me. I waited in the temple annex. It is a building next to the temple with a large waiting room, offices, bathrooms, and an eating area. I was still tired so I took a bitty nap.
When they were done we went outside and took some pictures. Phill and Chona looked nervous and happy. Dad's camera is jacked so all his pictures turned out fuzzy, but some of mine were good. From there we got in our van and went to the church for the luncheon. A lady in the ward decorated it really nice. It was a really nice luncheon. Not
Dad and Phill
Right before we leave for the wedding very many people were there but that is okay. I suppose that is what you get when you throw a wedding together in two weeks in a city you aren't from.
I unfortunatly was really sick and had to run to the bathroom enough times so that it was obvious. We ate rice
surprize! with three dishes-Adobo, chopsuey, and menudo. they are different filipino style then they are mexican style and I would've enjoyed them if I wasn't sick. The juice was really good. It was mango flavored and had been poured into pitchers from capri sun like pouches. We also had some more of that dessert that ate tenit made us last night but this time it was frozen. I like it much better that way. Dad had eaten two by the time I finished my one.
It was cute when they cut the cake. The cake was fabulously tacky. A chocolate cake with white marshmallow cream frosting. Their picture turned out pretty good on the top. They cut it together then gave each other a bite then smeared it all over. Phill tried to lick it off Chona's face and we all shreaked. Dad and Chona's
Leaving for the Wedding
This is outside Chona's apt. mom gave them advice and then they made a speech and I said some stuff and then we left. A bunch of us piled in the van with some of the leftover food and went home. Dad and Phill packed up, I had packed earlier. We got Chona and said our goodbyes to her mom and left for the hotel.
The plan was to drop us off and then continue onto the resort they were staying at for their honeymoon. It took forever! Traffic was insane. It took us like two hours to drive across town. I had to pee really bad because I was drinking a lot of water to try and stay hydrated whilst being sick. I finally had them pull over and we asked some random security guys in a hut where I could go. Phill, Chona, and I ran/walked to a shopping mall and I finally made it to the dirtiest bathroom I have ever seen in my entire life. Most of the stalls were out of commision with boards over the toilets. There was finally a stall open but no toilet seat and no TP. I didn't care I havent had to pee so
bad in my life.
We got back in the van and tried to figure out how to get back on the road we needed. The shopping mall was one of the dirtiest sketchiest places I have ever seen. There was really no convenient ways in or out. Most people who go there ride the bus. The one road in was full of potholes. There is no way for an american to understand how dirty this country is unless they've seen it. The gap between the rich and the poor is pretty wide. We finally got the the hotel next to the airport after a billion years and it was booked up. So we continued driving until we came to the first one we could find. The Hotel Carlson. Oh my sketchiness! I felt bad for Phill and Chona. It took forever to drop us off. They just wanted to be on their honeymoon, but they were good about it. Phill is the one who said we wouldn't need a reservation.
Our hotel was really sketchy but okay because we were used to it I guess by now. We were so tired we didn't care at this point. It
The cake
Normally I would disapprove but it seemed right considering the circumstances could've been nice but was pretty run down. Our beds were a four to five inch pad on a board. There was a TV at least. We watched some old Batman and Robin reruns. It is the show we used to watch when I was a kid. It was so bad, the acting and the writing was awful. I fell asleep I was so tired and sick. We ordered dinner from roomservice. It was so gross, just thinking about it makes me want to vomit. I had a sandwih that was white bread with one layer ham, one layer chicken salad with really sweet mayo and one layer egg. The first bite was good but then it was super sweet. Uck. It doesnt help that I was already nauseous. Dad's soup wasn't much better. It had a whole fish in it with bones and scales. It makes my stomach churn thinking about it. I just wanted to sleep and get out of there.
