Two plane rides and a 4 hour taxi later, we arrived at Rosita's Cottages ($5 each/day) in Moalboal, along the southwest coast of Cebu island, Panagsama beach. The friendliness of Romano, our new landlord, was overwhemling, as he literally showed us everything about our place, including the kitchen sink. Our new found celeberty status from this warm community would make any traveller fall in love with Moalboal. Everyone is extremely willing to help, and is gentle enough to laugh with us at our cultural differences.
Our first day was spent traveling 'to' and 'from' the local market via Romano's motorbike ($4/day), snorkeling the most encredibly diverse, and beautiful reef we've ever laid our masks on. Not to mention it's 10m from our cottage door.
Snorkel highlights: sea snake, 2 sea turtles, star fish, pipe fish, and countless species we have yet to id...phenomenal!
Not so hot highlights: tiny stinging jelly fish and tiny ants (another one of Amanda's new jobs..cleaning ants!)
