In 1999, Malaysia launched a worldwide marketing campaign called “Malaysia, Truly Asia” which was largely successful in bringing in over 7.4 million tourists. Under traveling campaign, you can enjoy cities culture including temple, local culture and many markets, tropical beaches experience and several national parks.

Beside the main cities, there other town and places in Malaysia offer some special tourist attraction. Such as in Taiping, Perak for their landscape and local attraction. You should keep in mind when planning a trip to any of Malaysia’s beaches is the monsoon season - do not visit the east coast of Malaysia between November and March, unless you like rain.

Perhentian Islands: you could have 19 km long offshore coasts of northern Malaysia of the state of Terengganu. Among many islands, you will two main islands called Perhentian Besar ("Big Perhentian") and Perhentian Kecil ("Small Perhentian"). On most beaches, the water is shallow with lots of rays, cuttlefish and parrotfish. For diving, there are dozens of diversities around both main islands, as well as several off-shore sites. Apart from these, you could also enjoy activities like camping, canoeing, fishing, jungle trekking, and banana boat riding. As for accommodation, most of it can be found on Perhentian Besar, the larger island. Hotels are usually aimed at budget travelers.
