This was drawn on the mall floor at the twin towers in Kuala lumpur. It is made of powder and is usually drawn by women.
Waiting is never my strong point, but waiting for a train seems different. You sit in a train station and wait, but its not like waiting for someone to come over or for santa to come down the chimney when you are 8 years old; it;s strangely peaceful. It is watching fellow travellers with interest, wondering where they are going and thinking of what they must be up to just to pass the time. Or in this case its sitting outside Starbucks with your little travel companion of a computer to update your blog.
Our Mad dash through Malaysia has sadly come to an end, as the train station I am waiting in is the end to Malaysia for us and we cross into Singapore in a little less than 5 hours. So here it goes.
We took a train from Hat Yai to Butterworth Malaysia where we caught the ferry tocross the 3km straight to Georgetown. We didn't have a clue what to expect here but a bustling little city was not what we were guessing. Georgetown was a surprisingly interesting town as it was old colonial architecture but we felt like the only tourists around as we stayed in china town and walked through the areas. Night was interesting as the town lit up with lights and night markets throughout the entire area. It was here we paid our 40 malaysia ringit to ride horses on the beach, and although in heinz sight it made me incredibly sad to I rode those poor horses on the beach as they died of heat it was an experience I will not soon forget. However the beach was amazing and beautiful like all the beaches we have been to this trip. Before we arrived on the beach though we experienced the botanical gardens which had streams, cacti gardens, lilly ponds, orchid farms and more. We had the pleasure of taking the first tour of the gardens on one of those trolleys thinking it would be a quick way to the area, but as short legged men and women alike passed us, and in some cases lapped us, we soon realized it may have been a poor choice so we voted to go by foot back around. It was well worth the trek as we got pictures with the waterfall, the lilly pond and beautiful flowers. We stayed at a rather intresting hostel in

We visited the Science centre in the Towers mall and got to play with all the exhibits as allison is in the space center here!
China town by the name of the blue diamond, and while it is far from the hilton it did us well for the nigth we spent in Georgetown. Next we headed to the Cameron Highlands where tea plantations are abundant and the weather is sometimes questionable. The first night we were there is poured and was miserable so we had some food, and grabbed some snacks and uploaded pictures and waited to get to go to the tea plantations. After plenty of shopping we headed down from the highlands on a whirl wind of a bus trip. The roads curved like a race track and yet here we were barrelling down the mountain doing high speeds on a low speed road around twists that would make the littlest of cars squeal. After one close call on a corner with another bus we were off again. Our 3.5 hour trip took us 6 hours and we arrived in Kuala lumpur in time to grab a hostel and some food then hit the sack. After resting up we were up at ready for the day, with one hitch to our days plans... Allison's camera decided to not work and the lens error

'But master I have a big head and these little arms"... Ya we had some time to waste at the mall
put us on a shopping adventure that was not expected. It led us to Low yat mall, a tech mall near china town. It compares to nothing like home and was 6-8 floors of only tech, there were cell phones, computers, ipods, computer coolers, USB everything and don't forget stereos ( just what we needed on this trek). So we headed out for the camera floor only to decide to do the whole mall, which resulted in two exhausted al's, one new camera for allison and the new search for food to tie us over till we could find our way out of that techy heaven. From there we rested and headed to the twin towers that is the home to petronas the oil company here. 88 floors of glass and steal allows a stellar look over the city but with having to que up at 8 am we did not geto to enjoy this view. So we settled on seeing the Gucci and tiffany stores inside and taking pictures from the ground like the rest of the tourists here. On our last day in Kuala lumpur we dropped our bags at the KL Sentral train station and headed to

see the Titiwangsa park and art gallery. We took some great shots of the KL skyline and were lucky to find our way back to the monorail to get back to the train station where I am now as I type this somewhat detailed list of our activities in this country. But as our train departure comes near I am going to scramble to the platform with our bags in tow and hope to clear singapore in 12 hours! Fingers crossed!
