01 Morning
A view of the ocean this morning after our breakfast. Geo: 5.97267, 116.071
This morning we took our time getting up. We then went to the restaurant for breakfast. Breakfast was a buffet, there was so many different foods to choose from. More than half of the foods were items that I wouldn't consider to be breakfast foods. We found plenty of food to eat. After a quick walk on the deserted beach, we went back to our room and prepared ourselves for our day out. Today was another warm day with blue sky. So far we have been really lucky and not experienced much tropical, torrential rain. On the way back to the room, I took quite a few photos of the gardens and its unique flowers.
Once we were ready we walked through reception to get the resort minibus transfer into town. In the reception area I noticed the bright, red decorations for the upcoming Chinese New Year festival.
We weren't really too sure where to get off the transfer in town. The other guests made a suggestion, so we took their advice. We walked towards the harbour/market area. On the way we noticed a small, red shrine with incense and candles inside it.
At the harbour there were many

There were also quite a few people trying to sell us a snorkelling/diving trip – which is the reason we came into town. The market goods didn't really interest us, as we have seen the same things everywhere else. We consulted the map and continued walking to the newest shopping centre in town – Suria Sabah.
Here we headed straight to Gloria Jeans for a real coffee. Then we had a wander around the shops. We only saw a few other westerners today. It was pretty warm now when we left the air conditioned shopping centre. We walked towards the other end of town. Along the way we found many sightseeing companies. We stopped at one of the shops and booked a snorkelling trip for tomorrow.
Rach and I were interested in buying a red lantern as a souvenir. There were many shops full of Chinese New Year decorations. In the end we each bought a large, red lantern. We then stopped at a little mini-market and purchased some more bottled water. We were now ready for lunch and there were many choices around here. It was decided that we eat at a

This roti greatly amused us. It was a massive, cone like shape. The waitress brought it over to our table, placed it on the table and then poured sweetened condensed milk over it. It was delicious! I paid for our lunch and it was 12Ringgit for both of us, which is equivalent to $4 in Australia! What a bargain lunch.
It was now time to go back and swim in the pool. We found a taxi and agreed on a price to take us back to the resort. At the pool there were only a few other people there. We spent the next two hours by the pool, swimming and enjoying the sun.
Earlier on we had booked treatments in the spa, I was having a one hour full body massage and Rach was getting her nails done. Towards the end of my massage I heard the torrential rain begin and it rained heavily for the next hour or so. The massage was really relaxing and I enjoyed it. Rach was very unimpressed with her manicure,

Before dinner we went for a walk along the beach. The sunset was very average, too many clouds around. Once again this evening, the restaurant was very quiet.
