Kuala Lumpur to Panang island

Oh Joy!Oh Joy!Oh Joy!

Ali's Ferringhi guesthouse

We decided as we had time and we were passing Panang Island,
that it would be a shame not to visit for a few days.

We travelled back to Butterworth by overnight train.
Must admit, we are getting quite used to travelling by train now.

Met "Will" a school teacher from england during the trip,
turns out he was a frequent visitor to Panang and was able to give us a few tips.

The ferry to the island was within walking distance from the station and the fare was cheap.
And you only pay for crossing to the island and not back.

We were able to catch a local bus (which was conveniently located at the ferry terminus) to our hotel.

Ali's was easy to find and we were soon settled in and checking out the glorious beach.

As we were only staying 2 nights, we decided to hit some of the sights by taxi.

Haggled a bit with the taxi driver and off we went to see the sights....

Must admit we didn't realise there was so much to see,
so
A doubleA doubleA double

With great aircon.....
a few days wasn't really long enough to do it all in.

We both agreed that we would never have seen as much,
if we had tried to find the places on our own.

So booking a taxi, was money well spent.

Enjoy our pictures, next stop Bangkok.....
