In 2006, we have holidays on 30th and 31st January (monday and tuesday) due to Chinese New Year. I originally planned to clear my homework at home during the holidays, but my mum suddenly booked a tour to Genting and "dragged" me and my sister along. In the end, we had to bring our homework up to Genting... (My sister was more pathetic than me. She got a 3000 words essay on Asian economics to write.) Genting was very crowded (as expected, because it was Chinese New Year). In the end, to maximise our time, we went to the theme park in the early morning when the queues were still short... After lunch, we went back to the hotel room to do homework (and to avoid the "peak period" and the long queues). At night, after dinner, we went to the theme park again to take advantage of the shorter queues. We tried most of the thrill rides in the theme park... For some of the rides, such as the Corkscrew (a roller coaster with two 360° turns) and the Turbo Drop (a ride that brings people to a height of around 100m and then lets them drop down at free
fall), my sister and I had tried them twice! In the shopping mall, we also went to watch a movie (Memoirs of a Geisha), as the movie price in Malaysia was cheaper. In the end, we had quite an enjoyable time in Genting. But unfortunately, both my sis and I didn't have much progress on our homework... (In order to hand in her essay on time, my sis wrote furiously on the bus from Genting to Johor Bahru... On the next day (1st Feb, wednesday) my sister even went to take MC (medical certificate) to excuse herself from school, so that she had enough time to finish her essay...
