Kelly at the Buddha Park
Similar to that Scooby Doo film!! Hi all, following on from our last blog we have been today to the waterfalls near Luang Prabang-which was amazing!! There is one big waterfall and the rest were smaller pools that were a really nice green colour and there were fish that nibbled your toes!
It was really nice to be able to have fun without all the health and safety laws (even though it was a bit dangerous)...
Today we're going to go to the night market to get some more cool stuff :D and we both had bagels this morning which were so tasty!!
We have got a card reader so we're going to be putting up some photos for you all to see of my (Alex) Tarzan monkey antics.
We also went to a Bear sanctuary, for the bears rescued from hunters and the illegal black market. They were so fuzzy and awesome! Pics attached. The black market here is quite prevalent especially with the selling of rare and illegal animals for food delicacies and a visit to the local market here proved quite upsetting as there were live iguanas, toads and the worst a beautiful leopard wildcat (civet) killed for food
Cute doggy
As we always need to take a photo of a cute thing =( It made me angry as well as they are endangered but like in cambodia it is because of a lack of education on sustainable ecology and farming/fishing/hunting so the key is to put more money into educating the rural population (I may write a uni article on this when I get back).
We have to let everyone know that we're going to be on a very slow boat for the next two days so internet might be difficult to come by but we will try as we stay the night on land in a hotel so there might be some there.
Anyhoo, hope everyone is doing well and for those looking forward to our return it is only 8 days until you can stop worrying..
Lots of love
