Soo-- what an adventure so far... I am now in Laos... What a GORGEOUS town Luang Prabang... I booked my flight at the last minute in Chiang Mai... how exhausting... but I did it!...ha!
Mon. -- Last day in Chiang Mai-- 9:30 am- Appt. with a hollistic medicine Dr. R..something.. Very sweet humble lady... she take my pulse and measures my blood flow.. "Good flow, good chi'.. whew...😊.. then asks what my aliments are... well-- hip flexors, Psoas, and low back pain.. I tell her my story..... Off to accupunture.. Pretty much the same as I did in the states....She is very gentle and calming... I lay with needles for about 20 mins.. then in she comes with the herbs!... think of a fatty rolled joint..or cig... filled with medicinal herbs... it is buring just like a cig... she places right above the areas she inserted needles... smell is musky and smokey... kinda like sage with a mixture of other things... she does it about 2-3 mins per area.... very relaxing and soothing..
She tells me that she would have like to do more treatments... but since I am leaving she gives me my own 'Herb stick" to do

I truly wish I was a better photographer...you just have to be here to really grasp the moment... on my own.... $1... treatment $15... malaria pills $ 6 for 16 days.. just in case..😊.. Nice!....
Off to airport for 3 pm flight.... As we all are wating to get on plane a lady rushes in the bus... I make a joke that we all have been waiting forever just for her! ha!.. she laughs.....
As we arrive... we have to get our Visas... everyone is scrambling a bit.. but it gets done.... I end up catching a taxi with Connie-- 48 yr old from Holland... into town.. She had mentioned a hotel that she looked up.... Me on the other hand had NO IDEA what the F@*& I was going to do! ha!!.... But it all worked out... Found a place in the middle of town.. $15-- privat bed and toliet.. hot water too! ha!...
Oh about Connie-- she is a sweet 48 yr old lady... traveling alone... massage therapist.. She does reiki and crainalscral massage and viseral massage.. yikes!.. good stuff!.. she just sold her home in Holland and has been traveling to Egypt to house sit and watch dogs... werid.. I know.... She is very into healing, energies, and cleansing.... It is neat to chat
Little monks
They are everywhere... at the temples.. riding motorbikes... Women are NOT supposed to touch them at all!... with her about what I know about Yoga and fitness as well..... What I have learned so far:
Your body needs its own time to just BE... Dont force it!.. breathe..No need to push so hard..
In my last yoga class we did a practice called Yin Yang yoga--- 1.5 hours of just 'being' in a pose for 3-4 mins.. Just letting your body get into the pose... Let me tell you--- I FEEL IT TODAY!! HA!..😊...
Tues...
Connie and I met in the lobby... and venture out to the town.... Luang Pranang is a VERY small town that wraps around the Mekong River.... GORGEOUS!!... very quaint, friendly people... kids running around... laughing.. coming up to us practicing their English.. very cute and innocent...😊...The people are VERY poor here.... Run down huts for homes. made from bamboo , brick and tin roofs..... mostly dirt roads other than a few main ones.... LOTS of tourist!... There are outside markets... Lao people selling their handmade fabric scarves, blankets, clothes, and trinkets, ect.....
We eat breakfast on the river --- total for 2--- $4.. eggs, panckaes fruit tea and cofee...Nice!-- Oh-- Charlie- they played some tunes... Thievery Convention.. ( i know
Reading Monk
I LOVE this pic..... He glanced up at me for a sec.. and gave me a quick smile and nod..... its a differnt name but Im sure you know what Im tallking about. ?.😊...
So we decide that we want to go see waterfalls.... So--- walking down the streets there are TONS of Tuk tuks ( motorscooters with carriages on back-- act as taxis).. driving everywhere... There are cars and trucks.. but TONS of bikes and motorcycles.. the main means of transportation here...
One drives by us with 3 girls and the driver yells out- --waterfall?!!!... We run over and ask how much.... 50,000 kip-- thats $5--! Sweet!- we hop in!... 2 gals from Ireland, 22 yrs old and a girl from Gerrmany, 26yrs-- she traveleing alone...Then another gal jumps in from Ecuador, 23yrs.. So- we head up the mountain to the Kuang Si Waterfall-- 40 min.-- It truly is an AMAZING country... Lush green forest, a lovely river, lots of rice fields,.. a water buffalo stops us bc is taking him time crossing the road...kids walking to and from school.... they all yell out "HELLO and wave" as we drive by.....
I hope to figure out this picture uplaod thing soon... they really dont justify just how ENORMOUS this waterfall is.... Pretty similar to Hawaii and Costa
Bears and Me
On the way to the waterfalls-- they had a "Rescue Bear and Tiger" facility... I guess its a good thing to have the bears there being taken care of...?... Rica-- but definetly a more peacful and serene engery....
so-- we are climbing up to get to a spot where you can walk under the fall.. and its slippery... so what do i do.. fall on my arse! TWICE!! ugh!... it herts!..😞... but im fine. more beer! ha!...
Fabulous scenery-- great people-- back in town.. ready for a massage-- 1 hour $5! YES!...😊
LOVE!
