Blog will become much briefer from no on...just to give you an idea of where i am....
from pak Beng..took gorgeous long boat journey along the mekong to Luang Prabang, wonderful scenery of thailand one side, laos the other.
much french influence here...french colonial buildings, baguettes, cheese, etc! beautiful town..quite touristy but still really laid back.
interesting wats, markets with local tribal goods, handmade clothes, etc,
climbed to top of mount pousi - view of town..lush
finding out lots about the patet loas regime & life of laos pre during & after french...all interesting stuff.
visited local Pak Ou caves - rained on heavily...our truck got stuck in the mud up hill so we had to get out & push!
really enjoyed it here.
