As our week was winding to a close and we kind of were running out of things to see as we’ve taken in most the tourist spots and were a little tired of seeing shrines and temples, even though there are very serene and beautiful, we just opted to take it easy. Shawn decided to just hang out by the hotel and hit the toy store, and look for the Pokémon store. Meanwhile, Steve and I grabbed an all day subway ticket and were out and about.

First stop, we headed off to Jingu Stadium, where the Japanese baseball team the Yakult Swallows play, in search for my elusive fitted hat. The stadium was really huge and it appeared to have some sort of marching band competition going on. As we walked around the stadium we came across a drunk guy who wanted to befriend us. Mind you it’s not even 11:00am yet and not game day. We finally shook loose of that guy, who made us do some swaying dance, talk about weird. There were a lot of other stadiums and gymnasiums in the vicinity as well. As we walked around just seeing what else was in the area we saw some kids playing baseball in a big parking lot area.

After we got tired of walking around the stadiums we embarked to the subway to head over to Shibuya. We made a quick stop at the notorious dog statue located by Shibuya station. This is a typical meeting spot for all the youngsters and that was certainly noticeable as they were crawling around everywhere. After grabbing a picture of the statue and one of the mural that was on the train station wall dedicated to the dog we started our hunt. For a different hat store called Fames. eventually we found it and unfortunately when we found it, they only carried hat sizes that started 7 ¼” which is just one size bigger than the size I wear, Dammit! So since we were over that way we opted to search for some used cd shops. First we hit the huge Tower Records to see what they had to offer. Then as it started to drizzle and with some help from a guy at a used vinyl store we found Disk Union (which was VERY small and crammed) and Recofan (this store was huge and

When we were all done shopping and rain started to get a little heavier we high tailed it to the subway an headed back to the hotel to relax and freshen up before meeting my Bulgarian friend Janina for dinner in Roppongi Hills. We got to see the distinguishing landmark there in the form of a huge spider. Once the three of us met up with her and her Canadian friend Ann, we decided to eat at Zen restaurant. The food was rather delicious. I had some more croquets, this time with rice and cheese center placed on top of some sauce which had a similarity to marinara. Also had more yakitori skewers, minced duck w/ apples and pork w/ some veggies this time. Stole another chunk of swordfish from Shawn, for me not liking seafood, damn that swordfish is good. Dessert was some berrylicious cheesecake, damn it was gooood! Afterwards we toyed with the notion of staying out all night and hitting some bars/clubs but our wallets and bodies said to just call it a night so back to the hotel for some more Japanese TV and
