the entrance leading up to the temple
Day seven we started off slow, possibly from all the food we devoured the night before. We opted to attempt the JR line to go to Shinigawa and see the fabled temple that houses the 47 ronin. After making an error in our commute (no wonder we didn’t let Steve navigate) we finally arrived at the Sengaku-Ji Temple. As we strolled up to the main entrance we passed an Altezza (aka Lexus IS300), which I snapped a pair of pics as that’s like one of my dream cars. It was a very hot day already, and was very quiet at the temple. Only a few people were on the grounds, mainly just relaxing in the shade. There were many sites to see at the temple, we paid for a small map which told the story of what all was there to see. We spent an ample amount of time there making sure to soak in everything.

Afterwards we trekked across town as I wanted to hit a hat store in Harajuku. So we strolled down the shop filled Takeshita Dori until we finally reached Cap Collector One. I went into the tiny store where they had no Japanese

baseball team hats and advised me to go to their bigger store in Ueno. As we were on that side of town we meandered over to Ometsando to visit the one stop souvenir shop, the Oriental Bazaar. We actually spent a great deal of time in their getting a bunch of gifts for everyone. As we headed back to the subway station we came across a Ferrari just chilling on a side street in front of a spa. My love for cars had me go down and get an up close look at one. Also got my first smile from a Japanese female, which leads me to believe she wasn’t a native as they are very straight faced and keep to themselves.

We kept it a pretty low key day as our trip was slowly coming to a close and I think we were all beginning to be wore out with all the walking we’ve done and dealing with the major time difference.
