Always a festival on in Japan! During Golden Week (basically lots of public holidays in a row) in Japan, Rebekah, Cate and I went on a short holiday to Hiroshima. Mochi is like a sticky, sweetish rice cake. Ours were dusted in a cinnamon type of sweet powder.

How lucky was that to find a festival!! Love your photo of Abomb domb at night - even more stark and beautiful than in daylight Thanks for the post card and love the new house - wasnt thayt lucky the way it turned out - worth being homeless for a little while.
