Hi!
Right now my friend Benjamin is in the flight bringing him back to France. I won't go too much in details for that, but to summarize he decided to leave before the end of the semester because of two much problems here and in France as well. So las weekend was his week-end! Friday we organized a big party like we didn't have since too long in I-House. Everybody was there, it was a lot of fun. Julia had the idea of organizing. She's the one that pretty much took care of Ben all week-end, bringing him in her never ending partying everywhere possible, as long as there's beer. So Ben was pretty much drink all week-end, I guess it helped him go through this hard time.
Saturday was the first day of the Soccer tournament. I had never watched a whole match before at t.v. so I thought Japan could be a good place for my first time. I went to Shooters, a bar restaurant where all the gaijin gather, with Julia, Ben, Hung and some Japanese girls. The match was quite boring... anyway we headed back early while Ben and Julia stayed there until 6 in
the morning, drinking like crazy.
Sunday it was keisuke's birthday, one of the Japanese guys that stays with us in I-House. The day before Melissa and Joey had gathered money from everybody for his gift... well they gather enough to buy him a ... game boy... you know the new ones... a lot of people are addict to it here, so was Keisuke. So Sunday we gave it to him, and he was sooooo surprised. I never saw someone that surprised when receiving a gift... wow... it was touching... he's Japanese, so he was not stopping bowing, saying, arigato gosaimashita... he just couldnt believe it and said it was his best birthday ever... wow, everybody was so happy to make someone else that happy. 😊
Monday was Ben's departure day. It was a soooo busy day for me! I spent all day running around trying to get the last sugnature of people for an picture album I wanted to give him before he leaves. Pretty much everybody in I-House wrote in it, at the end it was all colorful and full of really nice texts from everybody. I was really happy of the result. I think Ben was
Farewell party for Ben
Julia made a disgusting mix of different alcohol and flavors... happy to receive it. I also prepared poutine for him... hihi, he likes it and I refused to let him eat only McDonalds for his last meal on the Japan's land. 30 minutes before his departure, he was in the Nakaniwa (outside garden) and everybody came, just to sit there, be with him in his last minutes in I-House... wow... people get so nice and full of compassion in these moments... all week end I could feel people being touched by the fact he was leaving, even those who were not particularly friends with him. Anyway the time came... everybody gathered in the lobby and he said a few last words... gave a hug to everybody... and some of us helped him bring his luggage to the bus stop...
because the world cannot stop turning, I had my play rehearsal right after it... and then some more soccer game watching, but at I-House this time, we were around 20 persons, and it was way much better than my first time!
I'll miss you, Ben, see you soon
Melanie
