After the wedding it was a very lazy, relaxing day, just a bit of snorkelling, eating, learning some Indonesian and reading. Although after been dropped at a near by beach to do some snorkelling i did swim back to the lodge and that counts as exercise! I also walked to the hostel next door and booked some diving. And attempted to do some washing but there wasn't enough clean water so I had to give that one a miss for now at least.
For my third day in the islands I booked to do two dives one at Kota reef and one at new reef. New reef was by far the better of the two sights but it was good diving and it surprised me how much I actually remembered from the course. Then it was time for more reading and freshly caught fish and rice for dinner.
For wednesday six of us had organised to do a day trip around various islands snorkelling with Pudin the previous night, due to leave around 9am. But 9am arrived and passed and we all sat waiting this been Indonesia it didn't surprise us but we were still waiting at 11am
and in the end didn't make the trip. Instead Tommi took us on a short trek through the forest to Barracuda beach where he climbed up a coconut tree and we all sat and drank coconut juice very enjoyable after a trek during the afternoon heat. Then it was time for some snorkelling, there are some amazing snorkelling sites around the islands! But there are loads of minute jellyfish that sting you constantly and some white fish that like to give you a good bite! After snorkelling some of us swam back and a couple of them hitched a ride back in a boat, cheeky. The swim definatly keeps you fit though especially when you are swimming against the current.
We later found out that Teteng had got up at 4am to make takeaway lunch for us all for our day trip but the boys had got 'stuck' in Wakai drinking Arak and missed the boat back! We saw the funny side of it but never did go on the trip.
At night it was time for another wedding, this time the bride was only 16 the groom 19. We didn't stay as long as at the first
and the bride and groom wore red instead of blue but mostly it was the same. We ate, each offered and received gifts and they made me sing! Never in my life have I got up and sang!
Pudin put us all up on stage to sing individually I nearly killed him, I attempted to sing Feel by Robbie Williams and made Pudin sing it too but I must have gone white when they said miss Jessica come to stage about six times. Very funny.
After planning to leave on thursday I decided to stay a little longer the Lestari's became like my adopted family, I'm really going to miss them all! And its a beautiful place to spend a bit of extra time. So instead of leaving I did my washing, snorkelled and relaxed. So funny though when I was doing my washing the Dutch guy was attempting his, at 37 he had never done hand washing and wanted it done for him, he didn't know where to start and he hasn't cooked a meal in seven years bless. At night we made a fire and all sat around while Pudin and some of the other boys played
guitar and we listened, sang and talked about the random stuff you talk about when travelling. It was nice though and done of the boys attempted to swing fire sticks mostly unsuccessfully.
