Today we are leaving Borobudur to Borneo. Borobudur was awesome. So, we took a taxi to the airport and flew to Borneo after catching a connecting flight. When we got to Borneo we took a taxi to our hotel. Our hotel was amazing!!! It had an infinity pool and a masssage chair in our room. We went into the pool for a little bit and ordered room service for dinner. I had fried rice, Ania had fish and my dad had Gado Gado. We watched TV and went to bed.
When we woke up we got ready and checked out of this hotel. We were going to stay at a lodge for a night and stay on a boat for the other night. We got in the taxi to get to our boat. When we go to the boat I got a shirt. The special thing is on our boat ride and tour we will see MONKEYS. So we were hoping to see different species. The boat started and after about 15 minutes we saw probiscus monkeys. These type of monkeys are orange and have big noses. We saw a lot of these monkeys. The first thin we
did was go go a feeding station. The feeding station is where they put out a box of bananas and the orangutans eat. The staff came to lay out the bananas and when they left the orangutans started swinging in the trees. Then they landed on the platform with the bananas. There was a mother with a little adorable baby. A couple more orangutans came to the feast. But then they left because they were scared. They were scared because the second king of orangutans came. He was HUGE!! The cool thing is the alpha or king orangutans have big cheeks. The king kept eating and eating and kept eating.
We then left to the boat. We checked into our lodge and took showers and got ready to go back to the boat to have dinner. We had fish, rice, shrimp and soup. It was delicious. We saw probiscus monkeys and then went back to go to sleep.
My dad woke Ania and me up saying that there were monkeys. He took us outside and we saw a bunch of macaques. They go really close to us. Two of them were grooming each other.
The others were looking at us. When the monkeys left we went to breakfast. Dad and Ania had eggs and I had french toast. After that we got our things and went back to the boat. We went to another feeding station. This one was closer than the first one which was cool. We sat for a little bit until the people came to put the bananas out. Once again, a mother and baby came and started to eat. Then a small male came for breakfast. Then the staff came out again and said to look to the left. It was the second king again but it was almost as close as I can touch him (kind of). He stood up and walked to the bananas. The small male left and went to a big tree because he was scared. But the brave mother stayed. The baby was terrified though. It kept looking at the king and getting bananas. It stated to become boring so we left. But we didnt go to the boat. We went on a hike. It was beautiful. There were mushrooms, strangler trees which actually kill other trees. The only bad thing was that Ania got
bit by red ants, but she was okay. It was about an hour and 45 minute hike. When we go on the boat we had lunch which was fish and veggies.
We then went to our third feeding station which was the most famous. It was the most famous because you have a chance to see Tom, the first king. When we were walking we saw wild pigs, but the guide told us that they eat baby orangutans. We saw a different type of monkey which was a gibbon. It was small but had long arms to steal bananas. The orangutans started coming from every side of the forest, but some of the orangutans just stayed on the huge trees in the back. But surprisingly, everyone heard noises behind us and then....a mother orangutan came right behind us! The mother was holding the staffs hand. It was so cool. The staff had to stay near where the orangutans ate because of the pigs. Again another orangutan came even closer. He was SO CLOSE to me. The first monkey with 2 babies got off the platform and
started climbing a tree right above us. And from the tree it actually went to the bathroom. We waited a little longer for Tom but he didn't come sadly, so we left. Then we went to the boat.
For the rest of the night we were just relaxing on the boat. We eventually had dinner, shrimp, veggies and more. Then we played a card game called BS with our guide, cook and a guide in training. The won every round! Indonesia 3 USA 0!!!. We finally went to bed on the boat.
We woke up to a bright day. For breakfast we had toast and eggs. We sadly had a 15 minute ride back to the dock. We then took a group pic and left to the airport. We were now going to Ubud on Bali.
