Not big but crowded. with a curiously big market next to the train station, together with the commercial street, that's the main action in Sukabumi. It took more than 2 hours by the train from Bogor. I am staying as a volunteer but the school is closed due to the seasonal holiday, it could mean the x'mas and new year, so I will just hangout with the local see what will going on then. turn out it nothing special going on about x'mas, and new year just some fire cracker and grilled fishes gathering on the 29th evening at home, then...anyways...I don't expect anything anyways.
There are some site seeing in the region but mostly are waterfall, beaches, or hiking tour. I did went to the Megalithic site of Gunung Padang near Lampegan to the east of Sukabumi. A huge volcanic format rock site but not recognised by the UNESCO, anyways the local kept on digging, hope they might find something that worthwhile.
