Land of Waterfall, Ciletuh Geopark It’s another hidden gem of Indonesia located in Sukabumi, West Java, about five hours drive from Jakarta. Recognized by UNESCO in 2015 as a National Geopark, it covers an area of 128,000 hectares over 8 subdistricts and 74 villages. Ciletuh Pelaburah Ratu was awarded as a Geopark not only because of its geological component but also because of its culture and scenery. One thing unique about Ciletuh Geopark was its combination of lush green mountainous landscape, surrounded by paddy field and located along the Southern coastal of Indian Ocean. Not big but crowded. with a curiously big market next to the train station, together with the commercial street, that's the main action in Sukabumi. It took more than 2 hours by the train from Bogor. I am staying as a volunteer but the school is closed due to the seasonal holiday, it could mean the x'mas and new year, so I will just hangout with the local see what will going on then. turn out it nothing special going on about x'mas, and new year just some fire cracker and grilled fishes gathering on the 29th evening at home, then...anyways...I don't expect anything anyways. There are some site seeing in the region but mostly are waterfall, beaches, or hiking tour. I did went to the Megalithic site of Gunung Padang near Lampegan to the east ... read more

Hey alle, nach einer längeren Pause melde ich mich mal wieder!! Sascha und ich sind nun seit ca. 10 Tagen in Indonesien in dem kleinen Dorf Cimaja an der Südküste von Java! Im Prinzip sind wir "nur" in Indonesien, um hier zu surfen, werden also vielleicht sogar bis Ende des Monats hier in dem Dorf sein... aber alles der Reihe nach! Nach Kho Tao waren wir auf Kho Phangan in der Ecke der Insel, wo die Party abgeht. Sascha und ich wurden noch verstärkt um einen Kumpel von Sascha aus Bangladesch, einen Franzosen, den wir in Bangkok getroffen hatten und ein lokales Thai Mädel.
