Everyone knows I love a good volcano! We did the "typical" tour - aka, leaving the hotel before 4am, a slightly insane jeep ride to a viewpoint for sunset, and then driving down into the "sand sea" to park and hike to the top of the caldera.

Did I mention it was cold? Really cold. Literally the only time I was cold for 6 weeks in Indonesia.

Apparently in an eruption 5ish(?) years ago, the top blew off and the hike got quite a bit shorter and easier
