So our quick but so worthy stopover in Probolinggo was over and once again we took the train for our ongoing journey. We organized a grab to go the the train station. Have we mentioned in our blogs that travelling in South East Asia is now so easy with grab or gojek? No hassle with annoying taxi drivers, just use the app and have a cheap taxi drive in a decent car - reliable and fair. And what we ... Read Full Entry

Instincts
Oh wow, well done! I completely understand you on trusting your instincts, especially on the travelling road. I do the same myself sometimes - if it doesn't feel right, just don't do it. I'm sorry to hear that Banyuwangi wasn't the greatest of places to visit, but it still looks like you had an amazing time there! I look forward to reading about Bali ?

Life lesson
Yes, travelling always gives you nice lessons which one should follow also in life - like listening to your instincts. Well, Banyuwangi itself is not a nice town. But, from there you can do fantastic trips to many nearby national parks which are still quite undiscovered. But you need a bit more time as we had. Anyway, worth visiting what we have heard and seen on pictures! Maybe next time.....

I know of an unusual site in Java
If I ever manage to visit Java again I am going to visit the Sidarjo Mud Flow. It is the largest mud volcano in the world. When tey bored for gas or possibly oil the struck a gigantic reservoir with mud. When tehy removed the drill rig thousands of cubic meters of mud rushed out of the hole each day. They haven't managed to stop the flow so still today, 14 years later, mud is spewing out of the hole. OK, I am strange to actually enjoy these kind of things. I know that. /Ake

unusual sight
At least it sounds really exciting. Would love to see it one day. Well, Java will hopefully see me again. The vulcanic landscape is simply too fascinating.... :-)
